Well... this is falsely promoted.First off: you have to "heat up" the popper for 3 minutes BEFORE putting in any kernels. Then you turn it off. Only then can you put in 1/4 cup of kernels, which will take several minutes to pop. Then, once you hear only 1 or 2 kernels popping per second, you turn it OFF. THEN before you can make another batch, you have to wait 10 minutes to prevent the unit from overheating.So for one batch: 3 minutes, plus 3 minutes, plus 10 minutes. 16 minutes per batch. Not good, unless you're eating alone. And who eats popcorn alone? (If you do, can't say I fault you... I love popcorn. But generally, I eat popcorn with groups.)Then there is the amount: according to the verbiage, the popper is makes up to 16 cups -- implying to me and probably you that each batch can be up to 16 cups. But: you can only put in 1/4 cup of kernels per batch. I've been making and eating popcorn for a long time. I grew up in the state that grew more popcorn than any other state. There is no popcorn brand out there that can produce 16 cups of popped corn from 1/4 cup of unpopped corn. None. The bag in front of me (Bob's Red Mill) says that 1/4 cup of kernels produces about 4 cups of popped corn. Various internet sources say 1/4 cup will produce 5 cups of popped corn. Neither 4 cups nor 5 cups is anywhere near 16 cups.Here are the first two "features" as claimed in the Amazon ad:QUICK & EASY: With just a push of a button, this unit pops up to 16-cups of healthy, air-popped hot popcorn per batch. Perfect for parties, large group gatherings or a family movie nightHEALTHIER POPCORN: Machine uses hot air instead of oil to quickly pop 16 cups of hot and fresh popcorn for a delicious low-fat & guilt free treat*It may be easy, but it ain't quick. 16 minutes per batch is not quick.*4 or 5 cups of popcorn is not enough for a party or a large group. (Internet says 2 - 4 cups is a serving size.) One batch is not enough for a group of more than 2... and only enough for them if they eat lightly. Not enough, let alone perfect for you group.*Machine uses hot air to pop 16 cups of popcorn. Totally false. The ad uses hot air to dupe people into buying the machine. And pop 4 cups of popcorn every 16 minutes or so.Save your dollars.

This is a basic air popper with a fun nostalgic look. It works fine, although there can be some unpopped kernels, and sometimes the popped corn goes a little crazy and escapes across the room. Since it's air popped, the flavor is going to come from your seasonings and added oils or butter, so maybe not as handy as microwaved popcorn, but also probably a healthier choice if you don't mind the little bit of extra work.

This product is useless. AMAZON should test Chinese products before buying and selling to consumers. .Many don't work if made in China. I'm pissed for the trouble it caused me and many hours wasted. I bought 3 as Xmas gifts. Fortunately I tested it before wrapping. Design flaw: Decorative wheels keep bowl away. Popcorn bounces before bowl, into room and collects in front of the bowl, under the popper. Getting my money back isn't fair compensation because I didn't have time to find an alternate gift. I blame Amazon for not checking a product that hurts their reputation, and results in unnecessary cost. My time is worth $100s per hour and I have to go thru the annoyance to return it.Other Chinese crap Amazon sold me, resulting in major inconvenience, and costly time to me and Amazon:1. outside grill: cover too small, let's air out, keeping grill unable to reach cooking temp/2. cordless drill: zero power against any resistance such as drilling wood/3. hammer drill: chuck exploded drilling 5th hole.Attention Amazon Executive for Buying Chinese: you are wasting money and pissing off customers. Fix it. Contact me for details. If you don't do this, then identify "made in China" so I don't regret having the buying convenience offset by wasting my time returning useless crap you could simply prevent by basic product testing to verify it works. Ive used this for a couple years and it works great.it does have a short life though. Make sure you use it in a safe space.
