I bought this dress for $80. It did not fit so I returned it and Amazon only returned a fraction of what I paid- $8.90!!!

This dress is nice material. I bought the large. I’m usually a small. It fit more or less. A bit big at the breast. I got many compliments. I had to hem it as I’m short. 5’1

It was a very nice dress. I ordered this for my play where I played Mrs. Cratchitt. It was a very nice dress but the eyelights that corested up the back broke very easily. I had to wear a tanktop under bcause there was nothing covering my back. I am 5'2 and it hit perfectly. I needed it to be longer and not at my ankles but if you want it to your ankles and your my height or shorter you will need to get it shortened

I was surprised at the high quality of this item for the price! I purchased it for an early 19th century and had to do some tweaking to make it more historically accurate. In the US, plaid wasn’t common until the Civil War era, but it was fairly common in Scotland dating back to the 1700s. Additionally, the lace on the arms isn’t entirely accurate. Black also was uncommon until after the Civil War (it was very expensive to dye something black! If your goal is to be historically accurate, you can absolutely accomplish this with some tweaking. If your goal is just to have a neat Civil War era dress, you’ll be happy with the purchase!!

I was impressed with this dress from the moment I opened the package. It is very well made, especially at this price point! Material is a nice weight. Surprisingly, the black front panel is actually a full under skirt, with a short lining under that. Many reviewers said it ran small, and it does somewhat. If you go by the actual measurements given you shouldn't have a problem. For comparison: In off the rack clothes, I'm usually a S/M Petite or a size 6/8. I'm 5'4", 126 lbs, 37.5" bust and 31" waist. I ordered the size 14. I can lace the back up totally for a nice fit. It falls about 2-3 inches from the floor.
