This comes well packaged with a protective sleeve on the machined edge. I have used it a couple of times, and it seems to be accurate according to what my machine shop has tile me

Great straight edge. Definitely good build and quality. Help me check the block and head of a Lexus ct200h. Common for head gasket. This is a must tool for any engine rebuild

Precision made tool with great accuracy which is invaluable for checking cylinder heads and engine blocks, for that matter for checking straightness of many things

I was a bit worried it would come with a less than desirable finish as other reviewers had mentioned, but for the price compared to some of the others i thought it was worth a shot. The Straight edge i received was well packaged, solid and perfectly straight, no burrs or tool marks whatsoever. Well worth the price of admission. Hope this helps someone else.
