Got this for an old iPhone whose battery was bulging. Pretty easy install. 2 screws at bottom of phone. Slide top off. Release battery clip. Remove battery. Put included adhesive on new battery, install it, install battery clip and close up phone. Works fine and holds charge.

⁃ The package comes with everything that’s required to make this replacement; paper instructions with color pictures, the battery itself, battery adhesive, a pentalobe screwdriver, Phillips screwdriver, spudger, suction cup, 2 blue triangular opening picks, and tweezers.⁃ The instructions are well done and clear, although they show a different plastic tool, not provided, for prying the battery off the case.⁃ The battery was easy to take out. On a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being very easy and 10 being very difficult, this is a 2.5 to 3. It is slightly less nerve-racking than replacing parts of an iPhone 6 or later in comparison. I have replaced a screen for both the iPhone 6S plus and the iPhone 8 Plus and that process is very nerve-racking!⁃ Watch videos of how to replace the battery. Yes, there are still videos on the tube years later. The ‘best’ video to watch is by Directfix, ‘how to replace a 4S battery in 2 minutes.’ There is also a video by Ifixit, ‘how to replace your battery on your iPhone 4S.’⁃ Just use the provided purple pentalobe screwdriver to remove the 2 screws at the ‘bottom’ of the phone at the charging area that hold the phone together.⁃ Once the screws are out, pop off the back panel by slightly sliding the back panel up while holding the rest of the phone body in place. The panel then comes off.⁃ Amazingly, the same purple screwdriver used to remove the pentalobe screws also removed the 2 Phillips screws that hold the battery connector cover. Remove the 2 Philips screws that hold the battery connector cover in place and then use the triangular blue plastic tool to remove the connector from the logic board.⁃ Pay great attention to the pressure contact, a small black piece with a copper color tip which may come loose while prying the battery connector from the socket.⁃ To remove the battery, use the same triangular blue tool to pry the battery off from the right side. Once it’s loose, then use the pull tab to remove the old battery.⁃ The new battery comes with its own pull tab and adhesive strip.⁃ Apply the new adhesive strip to the back of the new battery where the warning sign directions are. Make sure that, when the battery is flipped, the pull tab directions that say ‘authorized service provider only’ face upwards and are legible.⁃ Place the new battery in the battery slot. Make sure that the pressure contact piece is in place before connecting the battery to the logic board.⁃ Once properly connected, place the battery connector cover and screw back the 2 Philips screws in place.⁃ Place the cover on the phone body and screw back the 2 pentalobe screws with the purple screw driver.⁃ The directions state that you should charge the battery to 100% and discharge it 3 times for it to work optimally.⁃ The battery now works well with no issues. Just like a new battery.⁃ I purchased this battery to replace my battery for my iPhone 4S. I know this is another decade but I still use my iPhone 4S for a specific purpose; taking pictures of repairs that I undertake to my cars, motorcycles and bicycles.⁃ Since I am not really a professional, I take pictures of most of the important steps of disassembling and reassembling the auto and bicycle parts. The phone is small and handy enough for this purpose and I actually use this particular phone as my other older ‘work’ iPhone fell into a pool of oil and became unusable. I wouldn’t use my current iPhone for this particular purpose as it would be too risky!⁃ The original battery was obviously way past its prime or even decent use and the phone would die just after charging it. It’s amazing just how quickly the battery drains off.
