I love my pasta roller attachment and unfurtuently when cleaning got a clothe stuck and thought I had broken in.Saw a youtube tutorial and shows you can buy this.Works like it should and the pasta is back on the menu!

We bought a used Kitchenaid Pasta Roller set of 3 that had the shaft snapped on the main flat roller attachment needed to first roll the dough flat before shredding into pasta. The manufacturer does not sell parts to replace this, you have to buy a whole new unit for $100+. This is also a common problem if your machine gets too much thick dough, it was designed to snap to relieve tension in case something that is not suppose to be flattened gets into roller. This took me all of one screwdriver and 2 minutes to replace. Screw out two screws, lift off side, out slides broken shaft, replace with new shaft, put side back on, two screws back in. DONE! So easy, I let my 6 year old fix it for me with great joy!

I foolishly cleaned my pasta sheet roller with a dishrag one to many times and the original shaft broke when the rag got stuck. The new part was easy to install and I'm glad there is a spare shaft (although I won't be cleaning my pasta roller with a rag any more).
