Nice and well constructed lens. It does add a bit of a halo around the edges. I went from a .5 to this .37 to get a greater field of view. You do get about an inch or so of additional view but the halo/ring around the edges diminishes its advantage IMO. I left it on for now but may switch back.

This helps increase the field of view but the image quality is pretty poor, lot of chromatic aberration towards the edges and there is dirt inside this lens. Went back to my 0.5x and it's much better.

I have an microscope that I use with a microscope camera. The OMAX camera comes with a 0.5x reduction lens. Using the reduction lens that comes with the camera, I get approximately half the field of view that I get through the eyepieces.This lens (the 0.37x reduction lens that I am reviewing) is great because it gives me a much wider field of view that more closely matches what I see through the eyepieces. The lens is well built, has good optical quality and fit well on both the camera and the microscope. I do SMD (surface mount devices) electronics work for prototyping and repair and the AmScope microscope coupled with the OMAX camera and the 0.37x reduction lens are a fantastic combination for this type of work. The only other camera lens I would purchase is a straight 1.0x lens to allow the camera to get closeup shorts of my work when necessary without having to use the microscope zoom.

Outstanding reduction lens, I use it on an Amscope while taking pictures or filming videos of repairs.
