Worked like a charm to get the pittman arm off my 2002 F250. I attempted to use many other pullers and almost all of them broke during the attempted removal process and were never able to complete the work this tool did. If you need a heavy duty puller get yourself this unit.

I broke a smaller gear puller trying to get the primary gear off my motorcycle crank. This thing did it no problem. Big and well made. Requires 1" socket to drive.

Very fast delivery, ordered on dec 22 and arrived on the 24. Amazing.Fantastic tool, well built, heavy. Pictures show the $23 puller I bought, broke first try on my 1973 Dodge Dart, original arm on the shaft for over 45 years.Pay the money, dont buy cheap tools. You know you'll regret it.

Okay so for you DIY guys out there that are replacing a steering box on a 2008 super duty because you ran bigger tires on that factory steering box and now it's all clapped-out this thing is legit. So I bought this truck used as is, lift height and lift company unknown but it has, I would say a 4 inch lift in the front with a drop pitman arm. Nonetheless after putting about 20,000 miles on her she started wandering around the road like a drunk date. Dialed up Redhead got the overbuilt U variant for my truck because I was running over sized tires.. New part shows up I unboxed it and went to work. if you're lazy and don't want to read any further yes this puller worked. But hear me out. As I mentioned before I bought this truck used and the truck was lifted by the old owner or a company that the old owner paid. Dropped the drag link from the pitman arm removed my hydraulics and pulled the old box out. Immediately disappointed to find out that the company that did the lift didn't torque the pitman arm nut to the steering box intermediate shaft which caused more excessive wear so I didn't need the puller because the damn thing dropped right out. Thinking I'm the badass that I am with my false bravado i mocked up the new box on the bench with the drop pitman arm and torqued that nut as Ford requires to that tedious 350 foot pounds on a bench with a vise. Not recommended but I got her done. I know what you're thinking, but, It was my only choice since the lift perch was right in my way under the truck if I mounted the box. False bravado in full effect I'd realized I clocked the pitman arm arm in the wrong position since this is a 3 spline intermediate shaft. Had to pull the box back out and this is where the puller came into play. That 350 foot pounds is no joke. However the puller? No problem. It fit around the pitman arm and pulled her right off after a couple good pulls. Didn't need to upgrade any bolts for the span whatsoever. I can see how you might need to though if you're dealing with some rust. In most cases I would say this puller would work well enough for most over that low profile jobber that they want you buy and gouge you for a hundred and fifty bucks More than This one cost. take your time don't be a dummy and use your noodle. And for you guys out there I'm not talking about the one between your legs. So what do we learn? It will pull a 350 foot pound pitman arm off a intermediate shaft with a taper spline. Yes it was a fresh torque however still at 350 foot pounds the puller didn't budge. It will definitely handle more.. For the puller I had to drive the screw shaft with a 1in socket or box wrench if you we're wondering
