This was my first pen like this. It took a little getting used to but it's been great for more detailed work. Make sure to hold it at enough of an angle so the fluid can escape the pen onto the paper. I was holding it a little too vertical at first and thought it was stopping up. If using with masking fluid just wipe it out with some tissue paper if it gunks up. I haven't needed to take it apart to clean it. I have accidentally unscrewed it a couple of times when changing the pen width, luckily the bolt didn't go far. I haven't tried the erasers it comes with yet.

So far the ruling pen works perfectly for masking fluid and siging my name with watercolor. The erasers work fantastic, removing the masking without tearing the paper. The pen is light and comfortable, very easy to clean whether it is used for masking or watercolor paint.

Good grief! How did I ever manage masking fluid without a ruling pen before?? ... oh, yeah, not very well.Forget silicone brushes, old brushes, pointed wooden sticks, and fine liner pens that get clogged and/or are hard to control! You can watch my rambling videos, but I definitely recommend this ruling pen and rubber erasers! It's affordable, extremely easy to use, I was able to get thicker and thinner lines, and the rubber erasers work great! You can use them to lift off the masking fluid completely or lift it a bit and gently pull down on the dried latex.I scrubbed with the erasers pretty firmly and had no tearing of the paper after an hour, a day, and a WEEK of letting Pēbēo, QOR, and Fineline liquid frisket/masking fluid dry completely - all using the ruling pen.The top half of the pen screws into the hard plastic handle (I thought it was wood at first), so make sure it's tightened, and there's a nice little groove in the metal part that can sit on your middle finger comfortably, no matter if you're right or left handed. The TINY pin and adjusting screw are very easily maneuvered either way to get thinner or thicker lines - see video. (Don't lose that pin while cleaning!)I suggest "writing" at a tilted, horizontal position with the indented side down (as pictured). It's always best to test the flow of masking fluid first and NEVER try to lift it (or masking tape) if the paper, paint, or fluid is wet, damp, or sticky.Depending on the brand, some masking fluids are a thinner consistency (FINELINE liquid frisket and QOR) and some are a little thicker (Pēbēo).I use all three (QOR is the thinnest and makes sharp, fine lines the best), but honestly, I like Pēbēo overall because it turns dark blue when fully dried and it's never hurt or yellowed my paper.

The rubber cement pickups are thin, but that makes them better for picking up stuff. The rules are great for ink or for masking fluid. Highly recommend.

I like that this came with multiple rubber cement erasers an that the masking pen has an adjustment on it that lets me out little piece of cotton or paper towel to clean up the edges of the masking liquid that I’ve laid down. However these erasers can be found at dollar tree in store and on their website that’s are exactly the same. Over all this isn’t a bad set if you don’t have access to that’s store an if you need it same day it’ll be there nine showed up less than two hours after I ordered.
