I especially like the protective cover for a name badge that is included in this set-it keeps my badge secure and prevents it from being damaged by wear and tear. Great if your badge doesn’t have magnetic information on it. The badge reel is also great for keeping the badge and holder in place. It slides on to clothing and hold securely. Retractability is great as long as you don’t overload it with weight. The leash is strong, but if you add too much additional weight it will sag. In all, nice design, highly functional, durable, and a good value.

This badge holder is much better than the cheap ones I’ve been buying from dollar stores and such. I’m always having to replace those every few months but this one seems like it will last much longer. It’s a good deal because you get two of them, including the reels!

I'm going to review both parts of these, but long story short, they are both great.First, the ID holder. These are super high quality. Our work gives us cheap vinyl holders and cheap plastic retractors. I go thru two to three retractors a year. I don't know if that is the right term, but that is what I am calling them. The vinyl holders rip and allow water in the top. I was able to get a nice plastic holder in Mexico City of all places, and wanted a back up. So I bought these black ones and they are even nicer.In many years, I have not been able to find a good quality "retractor". These ones seem to be just one step below a professional janitor key ring retractor. They also have a longer cord than the cheap ones the company gives us.I did have a little trouble figuring out how to open the ID holder, but that is a good thing. It means it won't come open accidentally. The only thing I haven't tested is how well the electronic reader at the office will work thru the plastic, because I am on vacation. I don't think it will be an issue.
