They don't get clogged up like sand paper. Makes the stripping job a breeze.

I am starting to weld body panels and the panels I get are pre-painted - these help remove that top coat they apply from the factory in seconds. I wouldn't do a whole car in these, but the inch or 2 on the edge works great. If you need paint off fast and value your time, these can be a real treat to use.

These "Strip Discs Stripping Wheel" are game changers. I am impressed! This is the first time I have used anything like this. I was really expecting something that compresses like Scotch-Brite but much more aggressive. This appears to be a metallic mesh with abrasives in it. (picture) There is no flex or compression that I can tell; it seems to be virtually solid.Upon close inspection of the three different colors, they may be three different densities of mesh. Look at my close-up picture and you can see differences in the thickness of the strands and the density of the strands. This may equate to fine medium course. That is not obvious at this stage. Looking at the pictures of the little bit of "grinding" I did, the grind marks look very similar. I took a picture in the sun and a picture in the shade to try to show the marks. When I put it on the railing of the old trailer I'm going to refinish, I was expecting it to remove paint. It removed paint, it removed rust and it removed metal and it removed it fast! It reminded me more of very aggressive sandpaper but without the loading up. I tried a 60 grit flap wheel next to it using the same grinder. The Strip Disks were better at taking off paint, rust and metal than the flap wheel was. The flap wheel cut a narrow area and started cutting deep, as expected. If I remove paint and rust from something with a flap wheel I generally have to go back and smooth out the very uneven surface. With these discs, that does not seem to be the case. I don't think I will use them for classic car restoration on the exterior skin, but I'm definitely going to use them inside on the floor pans for the initial rust and paint removal. These "Strip Discs Stripping Wheel" impressed me.

These are good stripping discs, which I use a lot. Perfect for removing paint or rust from metal, much, much better than wire wheels or sanding. It perplexes me that with all the stripping discs from so many brands out there, not a single one notes the differences in color. I do believe they're supposed to be, in order from most aggressive to least, purple, blue, green, orange, black. (Not so sure about orange, it's a new one for me). However, I haven't noticed a difference between their performance, so I don't know if or when the brands are following this and when it's just a different color for whatever reason. These are just as good as any other, but the reason I dinged it in score is because you can get just as good stripping discs for much less, and in a 4/5" size if you want too. If I were you, I'd comparison shop to insure this is a good deal for you. Really overpriced (excluding any "coupons"), but good wheels.

These discs work great for removing rust and paint from metal. However, I wish the description indicated whether it contains fiberglass, as I'm uncomfortable assuming it doesn't and potentially inhaling it. Additionally, it is quite pricey, considering that buyers can get twice the amount of similar discs for the same price on the market.
