A really nice quality, and most importantly, confidence-inspiring leash.I was really worried from the pictures that the clip was plastic, but it is in fact completely metallic, and very sturdy.This leash is very comfortable in the hands, and won't give you the same near-cuts the non-ropey 'flat' style leashes give you when your animal suddenly decides to pull.On the note of pulling, the slight flex of the rope itself is a very welcome addition, both for the comfort of the animal, as well as their human, when your pet decides to make a sudden change in direction.Very happy so far, and this leash has firmly added Pawtitas to my trusted quality pet brands alongside Rogz.

I bought this for my giant pound puppy because it came in my favorite color. I figured it'd be strong enough to keep her from snapping it (like she did with the dollar store leash she came with.It's a thick, sturdy material stretched over 7 or 8 different color and types of rope - including one that looks like a shoestring. It's this combination that gives it the strength. The material on the outside is comfortable to hold (and, apparently, wear as a belt. Don't do that. It's not safe.) and the connectors are strong, leather-like material. The "thread" in the leash actually does reflect in the dark which is very useful ... in case you lose your kid because he's reading while he's walking the dog and the dog slips out of her collar and comes home and the kid doesn't even notice so you have to go looking for him.We had the leash for a little more than a week. My eldest (he's 8) used it to take my pup to potty. Apparently, they also played tug of war - with the leash - on their walks. This leash is NOT a chew toy. If your dog uses it to play tug of war, the dog will win ...and the leash will snap. Don't let your kid do what mine did. At any rate, I tied the many ropes within this leash together because we needed to walk her before we could get to the dollar store for another 8 leashes (because they last exactly one yank). They hold. In fact, tied together (without being braided) they're strong enough to hold my pup on the porch when she's out convincing the neighborhood dogs to come see her.I'd definitely purchase this leash - itself - again.But that's not why I gave it 5 stars.I emailed the folk at Pawtitas with pics (because my kid swore the dog didn't chew the leash). They confirmed it was indeed chewed. They went against their policy to help me out. The company, the product all are awesome and I'd readily buy again.The pic is what the leash looks like when you tear it apart by playing tug of war with a 45lb puppy. Don't do that.
