This was the exact model that came with my machine. My old pedal had lost its mind and did not consistently communicate with the machine. I have only been using the new one for one week, but so far so good.

Works with Singer C7290QOriginal pedal that came with my machine was model dc-8000, but this pedal works just fine. It appears to be identical. It is recommended for Singer Confidence 7640, which is nearly identical to my machine.

TLDR: While the model number on my original pedal was C-8000, this C-8001 replacement works perfectly so far. I'm using is on a computerized Singer Heavy Duty, model number HD6800C. Very pleased to have a replacement so quickly so I can get back to my projects!I've been sewing on a deadline and suddenly found myself with an issue - my sewing machine started acting like it was possessed by a cranky Victorian seamstress or something. I'd take my foot off of the pedal and it would just keep going. I'd walk away from the machine to iron something, and the machine would start sewing on its own.Through a bit of troubleshooting, I isolated the issue to the pedal - the buttons on the HD6800C were doing just fine to operate the machine as expected with the pedal unplugged, no further weird activity. This pedal isn't an exact copy of the one that came with my machine, but it's incredibly close (only difference is the model number, the one with my machine was a C-8000 and this is a C-8001).The minor difference in the model numbers didn't cause any issues. I've done some basic testing and everything is running smoothly now!
