First, my dogs both wanted the ball very badly when seeing it come out of the package. Two big concerns for me though....1) it smells awful. My dog had it for less than 60 seconds before I noticed the smell wasn't just the plastic bag it came in. Super strong smell... Like acetone or something. Washed it twice with soap and am trying to air it out because I don't want my dogs having that in their mouths. 2) they say for medium and large breeds. Say 7 inches. Say it contains a tennis ball. Well, this ball is not large enough to contain a full size tennis ball. I haven't gotten out my ruler yet, but I doubt it is actually a whole 7" across. They picture it with a golden retriever, and i know my giant breed dogs are larger than that, but it looked big with this dog and almost fit in my dog's mouth. Not quite enough to be dangerous, but still much smaller than anticipated. If it ever stops smelling like chemicals, I'll let them play with it...like I said the dogs wanted it really badly.

OMG my dogs went NUTS for this toy. I have 2 big mutts, one is 12 and the other is 1. I bought it thinking the 1 yr old would love it, but they BOTH love it. The 2 of them were chasing each other around the house playing with this ball like they were both puppies! It's great! It's durable enough to have 2 dogs chewing on it at the same time. They are having a ball playing with it. It's not too big to pick up in your hand and if it is you can use the handle to hold on to it for a good ol fashioned game of tug-o-war! Seeing as how my older dog was running all over the house trying to keep the ball away from the other one and vice versa, I would say their activity level has definitely improved! When or if this ever breaks I will definitely get another one!

This seems like a cute toy, although much smaller than I was anticipating. This could be a really cute toy for a small to medium dog that is not a strong chewer. The squeak is loud and very adorable and the tennis ball inside has great bounce. However, my dog is a large breed and a super chewer. Reading the item listing, I thought this toy would be made of a tougher plastic and therefore adequate for a strong chewer. It is not. The plastic is a soft material and can be squished with my own hands. I know undoubtedly that my dog will tear this apart in minutes and therefore not the right toy for her. That said, it's really an adorable toy if your pup is gentle and playful with their toys and not known to tear and chew through them. I'll save this as a gift for one of my friends' fur babies.

My very aggressive chewer was eventually able to chew off pieces of the handle... but he has so much fun playing with this ball-in-a-bottle, I couldn't bring myself to take off a star. He picks it up by the handle and throws it for himself to fetch, and he GALLOPS after it - he is a lazy little bulldog with stubby legs, and he does NOT gallop.I'll definitely get him another one. The main part of the ball is large enough that he can't get his jaws around it enough for one of his signature chomps, so that's held up very well. The joy I've gotten from watching him is totally worth it.
