First, when I got a trackball mouse way back in the days, I decided to not ever go back to a regular mouse. Next, when I got a trackball mouse with a scroll wheel, that became a crucial functionality that from then on had to be with all my trackball mouse. And now this trackball is wireless. Everything works as it should.

This is comfortable and works fine, I like the ergonomics of the mouse and everything else. The only issue is that it likes to go to sleep, and moving the trackball doesn't wake the mouse from sleep, only clicking does. This makes it more difficult to just hook up and use, unfortunately.

I prefer trackballs to traditional mice and I decided to give this one a shot. It looks bigger than most trackballs I have used, so I thought it might be a better fit for my hand. Upon receiving I had some initial reservations because of information on the box, but these concerns were quickly overcome. This is a good trackball and so far it is working out well for me.I selected this trackball to connect to a Linux system, and that is where my concerns were raised. The markings on the box mention Windows 7/8/10 only, nothing about Apple and nothing about Linux. This usually doesn’t concern me, but the box also said something about downloading a driver. I was concerned that this trackball would only work with my Windows system if I needed a special driver for it. As it turns out, there is no driver needed and this trackball is as plug-and-play as every other trackball I have used.I plugged the wireless USB adapter into my Windows 11 system, and the trackball immediately worked. Interestingly, though, my security suite usually complains about new input devices, but this time it did not. The trackball works exactly as designed and was error free there.I moved it to my Linux system (6.6-series kernel), and the connection took a few seconds before it was usable on the system, but again it works without a driver and it seems to work exactly as designed. I think the box has outdated information on it.When I first started working with it, the roller ball was very stiff, to the point of being burdensome. I popped the ball out to see of there was an obstruction; I didn’t see any. As I have worked with it more, the ball has rolled more freely and the trackball has gotten more comfortable to use as a result. I actually like that the ball isn’t quite as free-rolling as with typical trackballs as it gives me slightly better control.I mentioned that this appeared to be a bit larger than many trackballs out there, and this has proven to be true. In particular, it is wider and it fits my palm better. The difference is not huge and the comfort is not largely different, but it is slightly more comfortable. For me, that’s a win.The fact that the ball is purple and not red, blue, or gray is a bonus.I am very pleased with this trackball. It works well (and without drivers), it’s a good fit for my hand, and most importantly for me with works with Linux without requiring any tinkering even though the product description says nothing about Linux. It’s not particularly expensive, either, which is the icing on the cake.
