Tenía unas expectativas altas por esta película, por la recomendación de Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree) a este filme. En el apartado audiovisual no hay queja por los altos estándares de Criterion. Si bien, no me pareció una obra maestra, me gustó el enfoque espectral y la subtrama asociada. No voy a dar detalles que le quiten las sorpresas y los giros de este filme. Muy buen thriller, con una estupenda Kristen Stewart en el protagonico.

UNA OBRA MAESTRA. El disco y la caja llegaron en perfecto estado. Fue enviado por Amazon USA y llegó con bastante velocidad. Altamente recomendada.

When you’re thinking that you Are a consummate movie watcher, sometimes your skill is diminish by a lack of vision.like when you don’t see things clearly enough to make an accurate decision of your craft.you know when you stump your toe an you look down to see why that was there in the first place that you didn’t see, you curse who.the object, which is minding it’s own business, but leave yourself out of the equation,movies were meant to inspire us to give hope of one day being true to yourself of a master believe you can do things.this movie clearly show the agony of ones self being riddle with grief of seeking the truth for healing of another. her Brother.but who can give you the truth to death, it’s not a lonely place I’m sure. this is why they call them ghost that roam.when you downplay a movie like this because of the star (Kristen Stewart) for the soul purpose of her shenanigan affair.you leave the craft behind an that’s as dull as boring a hole an don’t know what to do with it.even if you stick your finger in that hole you can’t stay there long cause you have other things to do, like live.? love Miss Steward.this version has no special features, don’t know about the Criterion version.Kristen Steward Can Act...I Tell Yeah.Widescreen 2.40:English 5.1 DTS-HD Master. with some English subtitles.Runtime 105 Min.

Thought provoking, intelligent, modern ghost story of an American in Paris passive-aggressively working as a detached personal shopper who also freelances as a spirit medium, and her longing for a paranormal sign from her deceased twin. Deliberately paced and mundane treatment of the supernatural and psychological horror creates it's ambiance of loneliness and grief, while still being able to remain creepy. The metaphors of the personal shopper and spirit medium are brilliantly utilized in the films existential themes of identity, belief, loss, guilt, alienation, and the need for communication that is missing in modern society as the characters helplessly reach out for meaning from the ennui. Excellent direction and use of European setting. Very much in the cinematic and thematic style of Michelangelo Antonioni's films with a ambiguous paranormal mystery touch that one might find in the works of David Lynch, and is highly recommended for fans of both. Also recommended is director Olivier Assayas' companion piece Clouds Of Sils Maria. A surprisingly atmospheric and haunting (some pun intended) film that easily captures the current cultural environment. The Criterion Blu ray also contains interviews and an essay.

Unique movie that captures your interest with a great atmosphere, if you like Alfred Hitchcock movies you will love this.

Unexpectedly loved this film. Bought the Criterion based on rumblings of the acting of Kristen Stewart. I had no expectations and new nothing about the films plot and I am glad that was the case. With my blank slate, I simply watched and observed and took it all in. The films title does little to reflect what this film is actually about -- which is quite a lot. A meditation on our modern world, spiritualism, materialism, a thriller, a quiet introspective mystery of the universe both seen and hidden. Olivier Assayas is on my radar as one of my most favorite directors.Highly recommended.
