I have two little shitz… as in Shih Tzus. They have little bladders and I work a long shift, hence the need for indoor relief.I have tried many a pad for my pups, but these are the best I have found. They don’t leak, they have a good range of sizes, and they hold up well after multiple washings. The secret to these gems is the plastic backing to them- they catch and keep it all right there in the pad. The pictures I attached show a pad I have had for over a year. The plastic has held up well and the top of the pad leaves no stains behind. I wash them in a load by themselves with a touch of bleach and laundry soap.My third picture shows the difference between a good pad and one that leaves moisture behind underneath. The thin backed one with the little dots on the bottom is not a waterproof base.Take my mistakes to your advantage and start with this product. No regrets!

My 14 years young senior Lab was having issues holding her urine. This can happen with older spayed dogs. This product appears thin but it held her urine and never went through to the carpet or flooring. It easily cleans in the washing machine. A tip for those that ise, always add a 1/4 cup of vinegar to the cycle and laundry by itself. I air dried in the dryer and then hung over the door or outside to finish drying. It has a nice non slip coating on the back. Exceptional quality.

Bought a pair of these 41"x41" whelping pads a year and nearly a month ago. My use: providing a "porch" outside an older rabbit's x-pen home in our kitchen. My furry friend was leaving many pee puddles in a wide arc around his pen, a new behavior. M-a-n-y puddles. While we figured out medical and environmental and emotional things, I hoped the pads would save on disposable paper towel waste and mopping. They DID! Handsomely. Even larger puddles, provided they weren't on the pad edges, were handily contained. The unexpected benefit of using these pee pads was that my boy, who has been losing both vision and hearing (he has the classic problems of a Holland Lop -- why, oh, why were they bred with floppy ears?) now could find his way more securely around the kitchen. He figured out that it was okay to pee on the pad, whose area gave him nice tactile guidance for his location. Dog owners in other reviews mentioned their pets understood what these pads were for. My rabbit, too. If you know bunnies, you know how spatially oriented they are. Gotta check all entrances and exits frequently, and maintain that mental map! As his vision has declined, he has made a habit of going back and forth to confirm his last sure location. These large pads are perfect for a reference point in his kitchen range.Combined with (1) meloxicam from the vet to make his movements easier, and (2) two halves of a Super Deluxe Palace Pet Bed (see USAknit online; they are fabulous) inside his pen and out, these pee pads have made a HUGE difference in his toileting habits and my workload. 98% of Bunny Man's puddles elsewhere in the kitchen have ceased. He happily uses the pad in the area in front of his pen as lounging area and latrine.SLIDING/FLATNESS. Given the rabbit's weight (roughly 5 pounds), and the type of backing on this pad, there are no issues with it shifting or sliding about. I've got one 41" edge tucked a few inches under the vinyl flooring rectangle that protects the kitchen floor from his pen bottom. Because the pad lies almost flat (just some expected curving upward of the serged edges) I can swing open the hinged door to the x-pen with minimal effort to clear it. If I need to kneel down and reach inside Bunny Man's pen to do something (always nice things in his territory!) I can just fold over the pad in a diagonal triangle if it's recently moist and I don't want my knees to smell like, well, you know.CLAWS. The fabric covering is very low-nap and the stitches securely sewn enough, that we've not had problems snagging nails -- except possibly once, when I hadn't kept his well-trimmed. He might have snagged a dew claw; not the fault of the pad. Because these were not made in the USA, when I initially ordered, I was a bit concerned about quality (sorry; I've just been burned repeatedly by lowest-bidder syndrome on every imaginable consumer product). If Pet Parents stays on top of that, and these remain consistently awesome, then you'll love these pads. Yeah, I could sell them. I have given some as gifts.CLEANING. No big deal. I brush off hay bits and hair, then gently fold the pad in thirds and wash in my machine in cool or lukewarm water. I swap out the previous pad, which I've left hanging on a clippy skirt hanger so it could air dry. No dryer for these! When Bunny was more incontinent and leaving more puddles in a wider radius, I had to do this twice a week or sometimes three. Now it's once a week. Still, after a year, both pads are still in great shape.A year ago, before I got these pads, I'll admit I was going through a LOT of paper towels. It was a pain to drag out the mop for every puddle. I'm writing this on May 1, 2020, so paper towels are exceedingly hard to find at grocery stores, and I don't want to venture out to buy a new mop head, either. I am so grateful to not need either!

Our "puppy" is really an old lady doggy (c'mon, our adult kids are still our kids, right?) with incontinence issues. She sleeps with us, and as you might imagine the disposal pads were starting to take up more disposal income than we liked. Trying to get her to sleep elsewhere is not an option, so we had to figure something out over the longer term.We purchased the 34 x 36 pads, and put one down immediately. I'm not going to pretend I wasn't a bit dubious, but lo and behold - OH MY GAWSH THEY ARE ACTUALLY WATERPROOF. And you can wash these babies right in the machine! The only problem was that she was sometimes juuuuuuust missing the edge of one pad (during the night) by about 3 inches. You know how that goes, right? You'll get all comfy in bed and then sometimes out of nowhere your comfy moves. The nerve! Solution? Try the next size up.So we did.And now PuppyOldLadyDoggy gets a good (read:dry ... well, almost) night's rest, we save money on disposables and once again balance is restored to the Universe.I will never stop recommending these to people. Oh, turns out they come in pretty nifty if you have an impromptu sleepover with the toddler grandkids, too.
