The HCS Series at a Glance
Geared toward beginners, HCS cymbals stand up to the brunt of sticks while maintaining their musical tone. Their durable brass alloy is crafted to create an unmatched sound quality in this range.
Beginner Cymbals with a Professional Selection
The great thing about the HCS series is that it doesn't stop at the typical hi-hat, crash, and ride cymbal selection. It is an all-inclusive line that allows young or players to explore other sounds like cymbal stacks, bells, chinas, splashes, and trash crashes.
The Meinl HCS 18" Crash in Detail
Features The Same Markings As Professional Meinl Cymbals
When you open the box, the first thing you will notice is that this cymbal bears the exact same markings as professional Meinl cymbals. It features the large Meinl stamp and a smaller laser engraved logo with the text 'Made In Germany'. At Meinl, we understand the value behind your look as a player. Having instruments to admire visually entices players, new or seasoned, to dig in and express their ideas.
A Great All-Purpose Crash Cymbal
The HCS 18” crash cymbal is well-suited to place anywhere on your drum kit to incorporate into any style of playing. Use with sticks, mallets, or brushes for a variety of sound in any setting. This cymbal is a great place to start when looking to incorporate crashes into your drum kit. With a medium weight and profile thickness, the 18" crash delivers at any volume level or intensity.
Crash on the Side or Play on Top
Crash cymbals are typically played near the edge of the cymbal with sweeping blows of your drum stick. The crashing sound this motion creates is what gives the cymbal its name. Meinl HCS crashes may also be played directly on top or on the bell in the center of the cymbal, which changes its sound. Playing on the bell creates a 'ping' effect that adds texture to your cymbal playing. The larger size of the 18" crash allows it to double as a light ride cymbal as well.
Play Any Style
This cymbal delivers a bright response with a warm sustain. It's the perfect size for adding quick, shimmering crash cymbal accents to your drum set playing. Strike the cymbal at the end of a roaring fill or use it to accent grooves on your drum kit for a colorful wash of sound in any style of music.
