I ordered these to test a theory on plates / bowls. I have smaller ones for our feline buddy and have used them for a few years now and I am extremely satisfied. With the experience using the smaller versions I decided to try larger ones as plates for kitchen and dining applications and have been extremely satisfied with them on a daily basis. Having a plate with a curved & raised rim is very nice while eating or serving. Before there was always an issue with spillage when using flat plates which these avoid. No plastic on food, no breakage w/ fragile plates and easy to clean by hand or dishwasher. I would use these if you have gatherings, kids / teens or rough & tumble guests. These will last a lifetime and provide a much easier life for the chef and the dishwasher!

These bowls do in fact have the same "turned" texture dots in the bottom as all the other listings show. I thought I was getting away from that as the photos here do not show it.
