If you’re looking for an AI recorder to dictate or take notes, you don’t need to look far at all. Buy this one. I’ve now written three entire novels via dictation and the transcription is scary accurate. I fed it a prompt to not change any words and it never does. It picks up every word with accuracy and is super convenient to throw in my bag or pocket so it’s always with me. 10/10

So I had a great unboxing experience with this item, similar to Apple products I've unboxed in the past. The product and accessories have a premium feel to them. Figuring out how to charge the capsule was more difficult than it should have been. I wish there were instructions provided on how to properly charge (remove the magnetic piece on the back). The recording quality is fair, but not quite up to the level of the built-in mic on my phone. I tested the capsule in a school lecture, and it was able to quickly transcribe the lecture into written text, which was awesome. It even formatted the text into natural paragraphs in order to make it easier to read. :o The 'summary' function was also helpful, putting the lecture into an outline format for a quick refresher. The 'mind map' function was okay, but can use some improvement. Unfortunately, the 'overview' function was locked behind a subscription paywall, which is disappointing considering the price of the device. Overall, I was impressed by the AI features, but with the sound quality on the capsule being worse than my phone, I struggle to recommend this as a separate device. I would be just as happy if I were able to just use my phone to do the recording and still have access to the AI features Plaud provides.

This is really a cool product. I can’t wait to use it. I gave it a 4 star because the band on the watch moves. It’s magnetic and the hold isn’t that strong.

I've had people think that this was some sort of medication dispenser thing. Nobody knew it was a voice recorder.AI voice recorders are extremely useful for salespeople who don't have the best memories. Customers tend to like it when you bring up something they said before. If you have this running (legally) while having a conversation with a customer, you can then check the summary before meeting with them again and get the bullet points. It does a fairly good job of that kind of thing. It will generally tell you a summary of what the customer rambled about. For example, if you're selling a car and the customer talked about their 3 kids repeatedly, it will definitely put that in the summary.The speaker separation sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. I talked to myself about cheeseburgers for 5 minutes with it running, and it picked up 3 different speakers. Either I had ghosts joining in on the conversation, or enough of a change in tone will confuse it. If you have two people with very different voices speaking, it usually does a good job with that though.My daughter took it to school to record a particular teacher who rambles on and on for the entire class and tends to put whatever he spoke of on the test, regardless of what's in the book. Apparently, he's preparing his students for college. She studied the notes this made, and it definitely helped her with the test. She had no problem recording hour long lectures for a whole week. The battery was still good to go.The fly in the ointment is the subscription plan. The unlimited plan is $29.99/month. That's a bit much, considering my S25 Ultra does about as good of a job with AI transcription for free. Well, free with a very expensive phone. I've compared them side by side, and the phone does just as well as this does, even when sitting in a pocket.It does a reasonably good job of translating things. It's about the same level as Google translate.It certainly isn't difficult to use. The mind map sure is interesting to look at, but I'm not sure it's all that terribly useful.
