The Pluggable adapter worked perfectly out of the box with a REDLUX 2.5/5/10GBe SFP+ adapter plugged into a10 GB SFP+ switch. Speeds are great and constant with 5 Gb speeds.

What was I thinking when I ordered this? I don't have the infrastructure in my house to make full use of this. My network is only 1G, not 5G like this NIC. Sure I have two servers, both with 10G network cards, a NAS and a desktop computer which both have 2.5G but I haven't taken advantage of this increased speed. Until now. This 5G NIC was the impetus for me to up grade my network. In order to use this, I needed to upgrade my switch, which I did with an 8 port 10G switch. Then I had to buy 10G RJ45 SFPs, because this NIC, my NAS and Desktop computer all have high speed networking using ordinary CAT6A and the 10G switch, only takes transceivers. My servers I was able to connect to the new switch using DAC cables. Ok, now that I have upgraded my network to 10G, I was able to test this NIC. Installation was easy, I plugged it into my MAC and it just worked. I did however, put it on the 10G network which is a different subnet in my house. Then I started transferring files from my MAC to my servers, and wow! What a speed increase. Unfortunately, I didn't do any solid benchmarks, but I can tell you that this it is faster than 1G, by a lot. I was seeing transfers of upwards of 350 MB/s, or 2.8Gbps. Now I know that I was not saturating the 5G connection, which I think has to do with the limitations of disk reads and writes. Had my servers had SSD's instead of spinning disks I think I would have seen even greater performance gains. I am impressed with this nice little NIC and also impressed with the newfound speed. I was looking at 10G USB-C/Thunderbolt but they are just too expensive and this NIC is a nice compromise both on speed and price.

Unfortunately, I ended up having to return this adapter as it was unable to maintain a stable connection. I would need to keep enabling/disabling the adapter for the connection to take full advantage of my internet speeds. Then often it would just lose connectivity for a minute or so until it recovered, and then the connection was again slow.It could very well be that my problem was related to the specific PC I have, not sure. Perhaps it will work great on PCs with a different type of USB Type-C version than what my PC has. My PC is a little old.============ Original Review=================After owning their other 2.5Gbps USB to Ethernet Adapter (USBC-E2500) model for 4 years, I decided to upgrade to this model as soon as I noticed it was released. I think I have gotten it to work to a stable state (Still crossing fingers). I was trying and testing different settings on Windows 11 for a day and half until I got it to stay connected reliably, however it took A lot of trial an error.Another negative is that at least on my current Linux installation, this device doesn't work, While I had no issues at all using the other USBC-E2500 2.5gb model, but perhaps this is a specific issue with the distribution of Linux I'm using .

Beyond the fact that it works and delivers the speed it promises, what more can you say :-). Good value for the price.

Works as advertised. Speed test went from ~800 mbps to + 3000 mbps with 5 gig internet connection. Recommend..
