I own several of this style chuck and not sure if they are manufactured by the same factory or if they just are very similar in quality. I like these two piece grip chucks so there is somewhere to hold to counter the force on the outside unit. This chuck also has the ratchet type function so once tight just a click or two and its more than secure enough and easy to get out. This is counter to the chucks where they linearly get tighter so however hard you tighten it with you will have to go that hard to get it out. It takes a standard 1/2-20 UNF thread male end (or adapter) and no problems with the fit there. Now I have noticed they can be damaged if you use it with an impact drill and it counters a lot of force for drilling. This chuck is clearly not designed for an impact device but it seems the repeated hits can cause the chuck to really lock up and take a good bit of force to get undone. Once it is undone it will not be smooth and will be much harder to use. So I highly advise against using with any high torque impact device but use it as designed, or even with a normal drill/driver and it should deliver great performance. It was also one of the few chucks that properly went up to 1/2 bits as well. Now if you are putting this on a drill you may not need the drill side grip portion but even then I like the ease of having the textured grip right there for quick bit extraction.

This seems like a good quality chuck. It's a fit for my older Makita hammer drill (very similar to the M18), although I had to source a new setscrew for it.That's really my only complaint - there is no bolt (setscrew) included. Sometimes you have to destroy the setscrew to remove the old chuck.Remember that the setscrew is reverse threaded. It says it's for Milwaukee, but it's a standard 1/2 chuck and should work for a wide range of drill. However, these things are absolutely not universal. It's a good idea to remove your chuck first, prior to ordering, and confirm the threading. In fact it won't even fit all Milwaukees, some are 9/16 and this is 1/2 inch. It's a definite fit for the M18 hammer drill, though. It also looks like it would fit my 24V Kobalt. The clamp on this chuck is smooth, operates freely. I should have done this a long time ago.
Just my opinion

I've been replacing the chucks on my old German-made Metabo drills with these keyless chucks and they work seamlessly.
