Feels very solid and well-made. I'm just getting started and learning to play it. It's challenging, but I'm starting to make some progress.

I was able to do a nice scale in a couple of hours. It does take patience and practice to put this chanter together and learn how to play it. For assistance check out the Matt Willis youtube videos. He explains all about chanters. Also there is extra hemp string on the connecting tube so don't be shy about adjusting it until it slips on and off smoothly. Matt Willis has a youtube about replacing all your hemp string joints with poly sewing thread so you might want to check that out too. When you first start, it takes time to get that nice tone so don't go doing anything to the synthetic reed before talking to a pro.You can get a fingering chart online for free with a quick Google Search. I also found lots of free sheet music online.Very pleased with the chanter. It is very sturdy and produces a lovely tone. The seller should make a video example on his sales page because there are so many chanters out there.Whatever you do, don't cheap out on the chanter because it's an essential part of your success in tackling bagpipes.

I had an issue with the reeds that were sent but the seller very quickly resolved my issue. Nice sturdy chanter that I look forward to playing.

Learning bagpipes is very challenging! But this chanter gets a nice sounds once you get the hang of it. Of course it will sound alternately between a cow and a goose if you haven't built up your chops to provide adequate pressure, but that comes. The product is a dense plastic, recommended over rosewood for practice chanters. It is precision machined. The joint is wrapped with gold-colored hemp cord, which is traditional. I had to unwrap the joint a bit to make it less difficult to disassemble. My teacher definitely approves of this chanter and I'm making good progress on it.

This is a well made practice chanter, equal or better than the more expensive brands. The tone is clear and well within pitch on all notes. Wood finish and finger holes are top notch, and I really like the silver band on the upper chamber. Really glad I picked this as my primary practice chanter.
