I got one of these the first time going to the USA and loved the easy of use to make popcorn. Finding it again and being exactly the same has been the best purchase ever!Highly recommend if you're a popcorn lover like us and looking for a quick and easy maker.

So easy to use and it makes great popcorn. The trick is to make sure you add the salt when you put the kernels in. This way the salt actually sticks to the kernels due to being popped with the oil. For some thing that I eat every day, I’m happy that this popcorn maker exists. The only thing I need to say is that they need to include at least a months worth of Presto plates when they sold us popcorn maker. The Presto plates are very difficult to find an online that cost a fortune.

So many rave reviews have been written about this product, I thought adding one more was pointless. However, I am so impressed with this popper I just had to add my comments. We followed the directions and stood in front of the microwave expecting something to go wrong. In just 60 seconds the first kernel popped and within 2 1/2 minutes the lid was lifting with big fluffy popped corn. It is so crispy with only a few unpopped kernels in each batch. I had planned on using olive oil to pop the corn, but it wasn't necessary. Instead, I sprayed the popped corn with olive oil spray and sprinkled it with salt. We had a Whirly popper previously and used 1T of olive oil for each batch so we are saving a huge amount of calories and fat grams plus it's crispy and light. It is truly the easiest product to use and it cleans up in a snap. We've made at least ten batches so far and the paper power cup is still holding up. The power cups are sold in packages of 8 and they aren't that expensive. I think it's a small price to pay for the great quality of corn this popper produces. It's way more expensive to buy bags of microwave popcorn in which you have no control over what you are eating with all the "goop" the kernels sit in for who knows how long. Plus, the Presto PowerPop is safer to use than popping corn on a stove. I highly recommend this product to anyone who is serious about producing great quality popcorn. Thank you so much, Presto, for creating this product, AND thank you, Amazon, for such prompt delivery!!!! We love our popper. NOTE: I should mention that we get these great results using our 1100w microwave; our older microwave (less than 1000w) takes 4 1/2 minutes and leaves about 1T of unpopped kernels.Update: We are still enjoying this popper for over 10 months now and it's still going strong with great results. I want to throw out a question to other users or maybe the manufacturer if anyone is monitoring reviews. Has anyone tried to make kettle corn with this popper? I'm so tempted to throw in a couple teaspoons of sugar but I haven't because I don't know if it will work. We don't use any oil, just the olive oil spray when it's done popping. I'm afraid the hot sugar might damage the popper. I'm hoping someone out there is more adventurous than me and knows the answer???????? Thank you!!!!

I am in love with this popcorn maker! I could've saved myself so much time and money if I would've seen this before I bought my Cuisinart EasyPop Popcorn Maker. That appliance was trouble from the get go. I am not going into all the details of my horrible experience what that, but lets just say that after a few years of dram with it this popcorn addict was in the market for a new maker. I honestly almost passed this Presto PowerPop gadget up. I was seriously doubtful because of how simple it was. I know that sounds weird, but most of the popcorn makers I was looking at had their own motor and lots of parts to them, so I didn't think this simple little thing could get the job done. Wow, I was so wrong! The popcorn maker comes in 3 simple to assemble parts and then the cardboard concentrator. The bowl and lid are dishwasher safe, the powerbase isn't. The powerbase is never touching any popcorn or oil, so it doesn't get dirty, it just twists in under the bowl. The concentrators are the only downfall to this whole thing. They are disposable, the instructions claim they should last 12 uses with oil/butter, 24 dry, but as others have claimed I didn't get nearly that many uses out of mine. I got 4 out of it with my first few batches, then 6 with my next. Although it's slightly disappointing, I'm honestly so thrilled with this maker that I'm not going to dock any stars for that. Plus, I found WalMart sells them for $9.98 for 48 of them (about $0.21 per each). At that price I'm fine if they only last a few uses. I haven't looked anywhere else yet for price comparison. So my first batch of popcorn, I figured there might be a learning curve with it and didn't have very high expectations. It came out perfect! My husband was shocked. I put in 1/3 cup of popcorn, drizzled a little olive oil on top and watched it go. It popped perfectly with very few kernels left in the bottom. It popped so much the lid was raised a little! Then I just took the powerbase off and ate out of the bowl, finished it up and made another batch. With my Cuisinart I had to wait for the hot plate to fully cool between batches or else it only popped half of the kernels, so if we had company over for a movie we got one good batch and then a few half popped batches (if it even worked at all). Not with the Presto, I made a few batches about 7 minutes apart and they came out perfect. I am buying all the popcorn lovers in the family one of this for Christmas for sure! Don't be fooled by the simplicity of this, it's really the best popcorn maker around!
