Solid construction, made of metal. The latching mechanism is strong. In my case I had to fabricate a plate to fasten inside the jamb for this latch to work properly. I used half a hinge plate and drilled and tapped two holes for the fastening screws on the latch receiver piece. The manufacturer should add a universal plate to the kit as most installs will require the latch receiver to be offset from the channel.

Es un seguro para puertas corredizas que me gustan porque cierran por dentro sin que por el lado opuesto te puedan abrir

Ce verrou a été utilisé pour empêcher mon chat de sortir et d'entrer de la maison.C'est bon pour mon chat mais aussi bon pour les enfants.

I used this latch to secure my screen door so my cat could not let himself out. I unscrewed the original plastic handle from the screen door, drilled two small holes and screwed in this new latch. Installation was very easy. I then aligned the other part on the door frame and secured it with the screws provided. The product is built entirely from metal and feels much more sturdy than the plastic handle that came with the door. The latch function works perfectly, and now my cat is unable to get out on his own. I'm going to install new screen in the door as well as a protective metal lattice at the bottom so the cat can't damage the new screen. This has been on my "to do" list for a long time, and I wish I had done it long ago. It was a very easy process.

Very sturdy and easy to install. I did have to build up behind the handle for it to properly meet the catch part, but that’s just the way my screen door is. Either way, I’m very glad I bought this. It gives us peace of mind that our indoor cats aren’t going to pull the screen open and go on an adventure while we’re enjoying fresh air coming into the house.
