Installed and works as intended. Prompt delivery, as expected.However, the box had obviously been opened and returned, and the installation manual and warrantee card were both missing. It seems that the unit works fine, so perhaps it had not been installed.Amazon seems to keep doing this - open box returns are NOT new, they are open box, and it is high time that the separation was done, and done transparently.

Purchased the ProMainer to replace a 25 year old charger that was not properly charging / maintaining my batteries. The installation was not quite as easy as anticipated. I had to relocate / reroute the battery wires which took a little time but, beyond that, it really was a very easy deal to mount the charger and make the wire connections. This is a compact, nicely designed charger. It provides easy access to the terminals and holds the terminals and wires securely in place. The instruction manual is clearly written and easy to follow. The termination points are color coded for easy identity. Programming the charger to the correct program for AGM batteries, or a number of other battery types, is simple. The charger brought a 105 amp AGM battery, that sat idle in the boat for 8 months, and a new 200 amp AGM house battery up to full charge in less than an hour. It is quiet while charging but you can hear the cooling fan when it turns on. I called tech support with a question about the charger and they were not very helpful - acted like I was imposing on them. Called back the next day with a question on the remote (ordered with the charger) and they were very helpful. I recommend purchasing / installing the remote if the charger is being mounted in an area that does not allow easy viewing of the charger. The remote provides a number of informative screens including the charging status (volts and amps). It is small and can be surface mounted or flush mounted. The remote backlighting is very bright but can be turned off. This unit will live on the boat full time including during far northern winters so hoping that it will not be adversely affected by sub-zero winter temperatures.
