Printer works very well. If you do all the calibrations as the directions tell you out of the box, you can have really good print quality. I’ve printed PLA, PLA+, PETG, and ABS and they have all came out very good. I have never had any nozzle clogs (which apparently happen with other printers, but since this was my first printer I never knew that was a problem that existed lol)There is little to no warping on prints. Just make sure before starting prints, let the bed heat-soak first for about 5-10min after reaching desired temp. This will make sure the bed won’t expand as it’s printing causing warping or loose prints.Printing speeds are awesome. Never had an issue with it. It’s actually quite amazing how well the quality is even when I set it to 200% - just make sure you are using high speed filaments for that otherwise it won’t look good.Firmware updates are now updating automatically. I did one manually (built in automatic software updates were not in the current firmware I had installed, which required a manual install), and after that the speeds and calibrations were out of wack. Make sure after you do the update on the printer, do the bed leveling, input shaper, and z-offset calibrations, as sometimes that configuration does not transfer over correctly to the new update.Setting up the printer was easy. When turning it on the first time, the screen will give you the steps to you need to do. It is a touchscreens and I haven’t had any problems with that. Works well.Overall the value of this machine is REALLY good. Even though it may seem a little more pricey it’s well worth it.Just one thing to note, this printer does not support multi color printing like other brands have, BUT you can still change colors at different layer heights, and the slicer can help you set those height locations you want to swap out filaments.

I was surprised at all the little bonuses this thing came with: sealed filament holder with a place for desiccant, extra PTFE tube for keeping moisture-sensitive filament sealed all the way to the hot end, object skipping, KAMP Klipper module preinstalled for fast region-specific leveling, and an extra hot end with a hardened steel nozzle preinstalled. It also uses a standard Makerbase Klipper board (or maybe a clone). The slicer appears to basically be a reskinned Prusa Slicer which I don’t mind at all. It’s quite fast. I couldn’t get the Orca Slicer profile to work as well as Qidi slicer but I’m sure with enough tinkering you could do it. Orca can communicate with the printer just fine when you use LAN mode.I haven’t tried the mobile app because they’re trying to emulate Bambu Lab and require a login. You can do this if you want to easily manage your printer from anywhere but I opted to set it to LAN mode and use the fluidd interface directly. It does a pretty good job filtering the air but it’s definitely not HEPA as you can still smell the melting filament so I strongly recommend putting this near an open window when printing or somehow venting the work area. It’s pretty quiet since it’s enclosed. I keep it in a room connected to my 6 year olds room and you can barely hear it through the wall. To compare, I can’t run my Neptune 4 Pro at night because you can hear it through the wall and down the hall. The bed heats up pretty quickly but the enclosure heat takes a while to get there. Still, it works very well since if I don’t use it my nylon prints warp. Not including a camera is kind of lame and the official camera is just a cheap USB webcam with a weird press-fit mount. The LED strip is also only along the front of the case so it’s impossible to see the print if the room is dark and you rely on the case light.Overall I’m very very pleased. It’s super easy to print with easy materials like PLA but expect to have to do a lot of the typical tuning for more exotic materials like nylon and PA-CF. It uses a patched version of Klipper which I don’t recommend you mess with but it’s enough to really tune in settings in the printer.cfg for your chosen material.

I ordered this printer to help me test and make finished mechanical keyboard cases as well as print some toys for the kids. My primary focus was something large enough that I wouldn't have to model parts smaller than needed. There aren't many printers available that can both suit that need and feel reliable.Once the printer has been tuned, it works incredibly well. The on-screen setup guides you fairly well, and the very close to stock Klipper means everything remains rather intuitive. Print quality is stellar, and as of firmware update v4.3.13 it has become clear that improvements have been made to filament retraction as banding that used to appear on benchy's have smoothed significantly. The profiles in Orca Slicer work perfectly. I primarily use PLA+ from Overture, eSun, and IIID Max on this machine and they all work exactly as intended. There has also been an improvement to my bed variance (down from 0.45mm to 0.30mm); that is likely attributed to the Z-offset now starting from 0 rather than the value I set which obviously needed improving. Case in point: I damaged my PEI sheet by failing to level my bed after the stored Z-offset value was set higher than the highest bound. Between a combination of reading the website material and reaching out to Qidi support for my specific model, I was able to get my printer working again and was immediately given tracking for my replacement PEI sheet. The point that I want to get across most in this review isn't that it's large or fast. That can all be read above in the promo material in this product listing. The biggest point isn't even the amazing support I received from Olivia who walked me through what I should be looking for, what I needed to have done to make sure that the printer was fixed, and what I needed to do to make sure the issue wouldn't happen again. The biggest selling point to this printer is the active development. This printer is still receiving updates that significantly improves print results and curtail issues. The commitment to this product reassures me that I do not have to regret my purchase ever.Yes- there are some design issues that I would have liked to see differently like the spool holder being in the rear of this heavy colossal unit of a machine. I just hooked up my filament dryer to it instead, so it has become a non-issue (and before anyone thinks that shouldn't be a solution should also learn that a filament dryer basically a necessity in FDM printing and should have one on hand in case you want to do the same thing as me). There are some cavities inside the enclosure that are unreachable with human hands and I'm pretty sure I'm building up bits of PLA in there. I'll vacuum that eventually. There's no AMS option, but that's just me nitpicking. The fact of the matter is no printer is perfect, but this one does a better job than most anything out there when you consider the price. If you want a >256mm^3 format Core XY printer with high reliability, responsive support, and active firmware development, the value is qualitatively unbeatable. I am very happy with my purchase and with the prints my kids and I have been able to enjoy with this printer.

From the moment that the product was unboxed to printing parts for clients, this printer and the supporting service has been A+. The printer was packaged in a way that would make it very difficult to be damaged, using dense corners supports, foam, and plastic wrap for scratch resistance. Nothing was missing in the order, making it super easy to set up right out of the box. One note of concern, which is good and bad, was the instructions didn't always match with the printer. It seems that the manufacturer did most of the assembly work that that users would usually have to do, as explained in the user manual. Of course, I liked that it was less work for me, but they do need to update the user manual to reflect these positive updates. As suspected, nothing was damaged and the unit was squeaky clean. After taking a deeper dive on the machine, in preparation to start printing parts, I did notice a few design/manufacturing flaws, as noted in the following.Issues:1. The top cover did not seat properly, as it was to tight. I could push in 3 of the 4 corners, but had to use excessive force to pop the 4th corner into place. It seemed that the gates used in the plastic molding process were not polished down enough, leaving enough gate material to cause this interference. So, before going "silverback" on the cover, I decided to reach out to Qidi Support, as I had read great reviews on their service support. I will go into more detail on this later in the review.2. The front clear door cover handle had a sharp edge, right were your would grab the handle to open the door. It looks to me like it had been dropped right on that spot prior to assembly. I've added an image of this to the review. I added this to the list of topics to discuss with the Qidi Support team.3. The last issue was that the carbon filter cover did not match what I had seen on the product prior to purchasing, as I really liked the fact that it had this function. I've added a image of the filter cover that came with the printer. This was the final issue I added to the list for Qidi Support to help me with.Qidi Support/Service:Below is how these issues were handled by the Qidi Support team.Let me first say that, just as I had read about, they reached out within 24 hours and were very considerate of the issues I had found, and were very proactive in making these right. The particular Support representative I had the pleasure of working with was Olivia.1. To resolve the issue of the the top cover not fitting properly, Qidi Support confirmed that this was a manufacturing problem that is being improved on future orders. Of course, this didn't help my situation, but it was good to know that Qidi Support recognized the problem and was going to resolve it moving forward. Qidi Support provided me with ways to fix this, by gently sanding down that 4 gates until I get the fit needed. This did work. Due to the inconvenience, they sent me a spool of ABS as a kind gesture.2. To resolve the issue of the sharp edge on the front door cover handle, Qidi Support first confirmed that this also was a manufacturing error that this was a manufacturing error that is being improved on future orders. I did push back on this, as it looked more like damage done during assembly, and did not look like a manufacturing issue. Regardless, Qidi Support sent me a new front door assembly along with a video from the Engineering team to show how to replace on my printer. Along with this, they sent me a print build plate as a kind gesture. With all the items that they shipped to me, they also provide me with tracking information and confirmation of the items being shipped. I received this front door assembly and all items discussed in this review within 1 week. Once the front door assembly was received, I can confirm that this is indeed a manufacturing issue and not from being damaged in the process, as the new door also had the same sharp edge. I was wrong in my analogy (shown in the attached image), but the Qidi Support team took the approach that "the customer is always right". In this case, the customer was not. :)3. To resolve the carbon filter cover, the Qidi Support team confirmed that the cover my printer came with was not the latest design. So, the Qidi Support team sent me the latest carbon filter cover along with a video from their Engineering team on how to install it.4. Bonus from the Qidi Support team was also sending me a improved version of the Type-C cable, which is resistant to high temperature and bending. This is something that the Qidi Support team chose to do on their own, without any request from me. As Olivia had stated several times in our emails..."This is what we should do". It's not often that you work with a company that is proactive in making things right, I really appreciated this level of caring from the Qidi Support Team.In summary, the Qidi Support Team was phenomenal. They are the benchmark for other companies on how to support and communicate with customers. From the perspective of the products quality, it has also been phenomenal. I have printed several components with materials such as PLA, PLA+, and FPLA (flexible PLA). All my prints have turned out great and consistently stable. On as side note, I was overly impressed with the FPLA and it's flexibility for a wrist band I printed. Unfortunately, I cannot share images of this, as it is "patent pending".I hope this lengthy review has been helpful for those that are on the fence with purchasing a 3D printer, or are just wanting to learn about Qidi products and support.Happy Printing,Roy from Sunset Engineers

I got this machine to supplement my Qidi ifast which has been a rock solid machine. Qidi support was randomly checking in with me on how it was going for no reason other than just to make sure I was happy and things were going well. That's kinda cool of them right? They're like actually asking me if there were any problems or technical matters they can help with. Usually its the other way around. So I picked their braintrust for anything I didn't know about the printer's operation (this was my first Printer), and they helped every time for my rookie mistakes.I've read a few reviews on the Qidi forum about xmax3 issues with regards to heat soak with some high temperature filaments. So I was a little leerly about even unboxing the thing which sat for a week on my office floor as I did additional lurking and researching. But I saw the issues were few and far between and they were being resolved. I found time to set it up which was a simple thing. Ran the "Benchy" test print which was supplied along with their filament and it printed in an amazing 17 minutes. Quality was exceptionally good with no seams and no resonances. So I basically loaded up PLA and went through about 9 to 10 KGs without any issues. Self leveling and vibration compensation were all working perfectly straight out of the box.I then had to move on to some ASA that I special ordered, but before I used that, I ran some common color ASA i got off Amz. These were about 7 hour prints using 1/4 KG each. To my surprise actually the machine printed it flawlessly using ABS setting with a little bit of cooling fan added in. I was able to crank out about 7 parts (1.75 KG) consecutively until I had a strange failure 1/3 the way up the print and the rest looked like a giant hairball. I think it was some type of z drift issue because the immediate re-attempt had lay down issues. I let the machine cool down and the restarted and it printed one fine and I ran out of test ASA filament about 1/2 way through the last print. Contact Qidi support and they were not at all giving me any Grief or trouble. They almost immediately (within 24 hours of me contacting them) had a box of replacement parts in the mail DHL from China.I reverted back to PLA which doesnt require a heated chamber so there is no heat saturation of whatever is being effected.Qidi sent what looked like at least $100 dollars worth of parts if not more. New Z height sensor. New Printhead covers front and back with two new added fans and circuit board, and an entirely new heated plate with a different magnet system which works with the new sensor, a new magnetic sheet that fully covers the heated plate for uniform adhesion for a flatter build surface, and all new bolts screws and hardware for the job. Talk about a slam dunk of parts. I installed them in about 90 minutes using their instruction videos and the thing fired up right away. I am docking 1 star because if you are a beginner, make sure you get a newer version printer or buy from Qidi and specifically request the lastest upgraded version. To some people, the work here in this step might easily be beyond their abilities. The tools Qidi supplied with the printer on initial purchase are adequate for the job.Now keep in mind, that of the dozens and dozens of prints which went off flawlessly, I had about 1 failure which I would say is the printer itself. The others were setting errors. I knew of the possible issue and it was resolved very quickly and pleasantly with Qidi support. Like really really pleasantly. Refreshingly good experience that you don't see often at all nowadays. By contrast, I have two Anycubic resin printers and one of them is not so good and getting anything let alone a response from Anycubic is like finding Life on Venus. So Qidi is my go to, based on the fact I know 1000% the company will make it right if I have an issue, which could always happen. No product ever made on an assembly line is always perfect. There is always supplier issues, etc. So the difference as consumers really comes down to customer support, and for that reason, I wholeheartedly recommend Qidi. I've heard horror stories from Bambu owners that it takes them 3 to 4 days to even get a response to an issue. Qidi is 12 hours at most and they act quickly and without hassle. Consider all that when getting a printer.
