At first glance this seems like a high-end gift-worthy umbrella. It comes with beautiful packaging and looks beautiful. I love the closure/opening mechanism, it’s easy to use and it larger than a typical foldable umbrella. I will update more once I use it in winds but it felt nice in a light rain.

Cannot say much about it except that the handle fell apart while unpacking it. Looks like a design floor with a small metal part with a wrist strap is poorly glued to a wooden portion of it. Item returned.

Umbrellas are one of those things that you often end up making small compromises for. You either have an umbrella that:•is compact/portable, yet offers little protection and is liable to flip inside-out in the wind•is larger enough to cover two people, and sturdy enough for wind; yet awkwardly large when collapsed.The Rain Cats umbrella is head and shoulders above the standard umbrella, and it's apparent from just holding it in your hand. It's got a nice solid weight to it that suggests quality materials and intentional construction (fiberglass is uncommon, of course). It also combines the best qualities of the above-mentioned umbrellas. It is tiny when collapsed, but also large enough when expanded to offer plenty of comfort during rainy days.It's stylish, easy to pack into a day bag/backpack, and feels strong enough to qualify as one of those "Buy it For Life" purchases. Oddly enough, I almost...look forward to using this?
