I used this during a fishing tournament. it worked well. The fish seemed as comfortable as could be in a live well.Definitely recommend.

I find it extremely useful to help with aeration in my large rear live well. I also let friends use it who are using a cooler for a live well.

I have used this aerator several times now and it has proven an effective product in keeping my live bait alive. It operates automatically when placed in the bait tank, but because I use this in saltwater it sometimes does not shut off when I remove it from service. To remedy this I rinse the casing around the probes with fresh water although a clean damp rag would probably work. When in operation I also sometimes have to blow through the air intake on the top of the unit (located on top of the unit on the red band directly above the RAPALA logo). Because this hole is not very big, scales and slime tend to foul the opening rendering the aerators output to a minimum. This has only happened twice and is a very easy fix just look for proper output every time you reach for a bait and you should be fine. It could also be the type of bait I have been using is prone to scale loss. I have also used the unit for other bait such as shrimp where it performed well once again. This unit has two modes: constant on, or 15 minute intervals. I recommend the 15 minute intervals on live bait that don't require heavy oxygenation such as shrimp. Even in constant on mode the batteries seem to last a really long time. I really like this unit so far, It is very convenient but does require some special attention as do all other aerators I have used. A clean wet rag or fresh water and keeping the intake clear and you should have healthy bait provided all other manufacturer instructions are followed.Update: Although this is a descent aerator, it does not allow for for easy repairs should the motor seize up. The unit must be opened and this could compromise the seals. Its' useful lifespan has been about the same of other aerators I have purchased in the past. The biggest difference being that this unit is very hard to perform simple repairs on, even though the pump itself is good quality.
