I own several of these acrylic enclosures for my jumping spiders, and they all have different design features. Here's my assessment after putting this one together:Pros:The waterproof tray at the bottom. If you want to have a tiny bioactive enclosure, you'll have to have moist substrate, and most of these flat-pack acrylic enclosures would require caulking to retain moisture. This one has a watertight bottom so you can have a live plant or water some mosses without draining out the bottom. The sliding lid/doors. Sliders are easier to slip a fly in without letting it escape vs. hinge opening doors in my experience. A couple of my spiders insist on eating houseflies, and I've had several escape while trying to get them in a hinged-door enclosure. The top slider and the side slider provide options.Cons:Manufacturing tolerances. As other reviewers have complained about, the sliders are not precision-made. Mine required only a very brief sanding of the edge of the side door to turn a stiff/sticky door into a smooth slider though, so if you're handy enough to use a bit of sandpaper, it's fine. The top slider was smooth right out of the box.Visual clutter. The tracks for the door slider and the magnets do create a bit of obstruction for your view into the enclosure. You'll have to decide how much this does or doesn't bother you.Final verdict: I recommend this for anyone putting together an enclosure that will need to have moist substrate or contain water, but it is pretty equivalent to other options for dry uses.

This is such a cute and small little terrarium and was perfect for my jumping spider. The mini terrarium assembles very easily and quickly providing a small but huge enclosure for my little guy. The quality of the acrylic is great too and very strong and rigid, staying together despite falling or tipping over a couple times. Functionally this is a great little enclosure and more that adequate for my small jumping spider. He seems to love it too and the terrarium has become a valuable part of both our lives. Highly recommended.

All of the pieces fit snuggly once the bands are put on, aside from a little bit of movement in the base piece and a small gap where the front door slides in. These gaps may be big enough for baby geckos (such as baby mourning geckos) to slip through, or for smaller insects such as springtails, gnats/wingless fruit flies, or baby isopods. If using for its intended purpose, however, it'll work great! There are no gaps large enough for an adult jumping spider (or anything but a baby jumping spider, really). It would also work well for an arboreal tarantula sling (the gaps are maybe 1-1.5mm). I don't have a jumping spider to put in it currently, as our next reptile expo isn't until May (nobody sells them locally that I know of) and it's too cold to find any outside), but based on my research, prior experience with spiders/exotic pets and the equipment used for them, and general knowledge, this would be a fine enclosure for a jumping spider or sling. If you plan on using it for a sling, or for anything smaller than a jumping spider/sling, I would recommend using hot glue or aquarium silicone to fill in the two gaps I mentioned above, as well as along the edges where the pieces come together. It was also very well packaged, with each piece individually wrapped in plastic to prevent scratches and labeled. The instructions were very clear, and I think even for someone who hasn't put these sorts of enclosures together a thousand times, they would be easy to follow- a note for any buyers, you want the grooves on the two side pieces to be facing inward, as this is where the top door slides in.The only complaint I have is that the front door is almost impossible to slide in and out. The pieces of acrylic that hold it up are slightly crooked, so it sort of rocks when you push it in and it doesn't glide easily like the top door does. It's also set weirdly, so it doesn't really lock in at the magnets like the top door, either. In order to get it on, I had to place the enclosure on its side and push it down with both hands (to make sure it stayed straight). If you plan on using the front door, this could be an issue, though this could also be a one time manufacturing error that I just happened to be the unlucky recipient of. I HAVE seen similar issues with name-brand acrylic enclosures (like those from Zilla and Reptizoo), so this isn't something specific to this one. Just something to note!

Like others have said, it needs some minor adjustments to function. Once you do a bit of sanding, it functions exactly as expected. It wasn't that difficult to put together or fix, and at $13 it's not a bad price. It really should have better quality assurance though.
