I purchased this subwoofer to replace the factory subwoofer in my 18-yr-old Hyundai Entourage. The foam-surround on the original factory subwoofer had failed with age and was causing the speaker to buzz, annoying me and everyone who was present in the car.The Recoil RW8D2 is a perfect fit to replace the 8" Hyundai factory subwoofer. The price is right, the quality and weight make this feel like a much more expensive speaker.I had to bend the wire connectors slightly to position the subwoofer in the factory hole, but otherwise everything is a perfect fit. Everything sounds great. Bass is punchy and crisp once again.I cannot recommend this subwoofer enough. Thank you Recoil.

Excellent, great quality, sound and value. The magnet is girthy, and is very stable & crisp.I had to replace the amp in 2001 Expedition EB Mach Audio; and that sub needed to be replaced again.. the factory am. Can't handle 1ohm, and I was shocked nat that difference. However, at 2ohm it's the right factory replacement. I'm so happy to have my bass back after 12 years of none. No distortion, ver crisp and clean bass.Keep in mind this may fit in other enclosures, but I will say this is not a flush mouth, at least for my application. I was able to seal and secure the sub.A++ forth piece and the 2ohms, with post that seem more expensive than this budget sub would suggest.

Picked-up this 'little engine that could' to replace a 20-yr old 10" SVC sub that had developed a rattle. Used the same MDF box, but I clad it on all sides with 1/2" solid pine panels reclaimed from 50 year-old kitchen cabinets. I put a 10" passive radiator in the original woofer position, and also added twin 6.5" passive radiators on the short-width ends. I wired the Recoil's voice-coils in series for an easy to drive 4 Ohm load. It performs at least as well as the old 10" MTX woofer, without the annoying rattle, and it is also more efficient. A little 50W RMS subwoofer amp is all I need for plenty-o-bass in my computer-rooms audio system.
