Purchased this die grinder thinking it was a variable speed and it's NOT. Later found out dewalt doesn't make a variable speed die grinder shaft was also to big to get in places i needed it to go for cylinder head porting. If you are in the market for an electric die grinder for porting and polishing a head i recommend Makita GD0800C they are variable speed and have a tapped neck that works great for getting deep in the port for polishing and smoothing castings.

Powerful !!! top quality. I use it with a foot switch and router style speed controller. get the speed right where you want it for the cutter, brush, stone, etc you are using. buy it ! TROG OUT!

I am satisfied with this tool so far, it has plenty of torque and the paddle switch works well. It did not ship with the 1/8th inch adapter sleeve, so I had to purchase that separately (slightly aggravating since 1/4 & 1/8th "chuck" was a selling point).

Great die grinder! It is used daily and it never fails. Lots of power. The grinder is built to last and easy to use. will be buying a second one.

An air grinder is SO much better. This grinder is either on....or off and is VERY hard to control. Its big, bulky...and just not worth having. I used it to cut 3 concrete stones that were 3" thick. Then I used it to grind a metal bar on and off for 5 min. The 5th time I used it....it broke. The closest service center is 25 miles away.
