This was a great solution for hooking my PS2 up to my OSSC. You do need to change the color output method for some TVs if switching from component.

I tried to use with my scaler, and it worked perfect with my PlayStation 1. I was playing games in quality video. It works perfect, if you have the right scaler.

I have the equipment to test this, so I wanted to try it out as it provides a better quality signal for older consoles than was available in the U.S. at the time of their manufacture. SCART is a European standard, so if you're not a hobbyist with the appropriate gear, this cable won't work with your U.S. television. The signal this cable puts out is surprisingly good. The cable itself seemed really thin when I unboxed it. I had a cheap SCART cable for my Sega Saturn, and it degraded the signal. I went in expecting inference in the signal or buzzing sound. However, the picture (ran through my RetroTink 5X) was pristine. It had no shimmering or artifacts on the text nor any sound issues. It was crystal clear.I went in expecting the worst and ended up with a great cable, especially for the price. It's a shame the company doesn't seem to produce any other console SCART cables.

Take a look at these images from the PS2 title "Batman Rise of Sin Tzu."The SCART (S) images are generated from this affordable cable. The Component images (not labeled) come from a cable that is 3x the cost and generates an up-to 1080i resolution. Both of these images were run through a Retrotink 5x and output at 1080p on a 4k TV that does great upscaling. The images were amazingly close in quality (likely due to the limited output capability of the PS2 and the game). If you have SCART as your input, this is an excellent cable to use. I find it significantly brighter than the PS2 to HDMI solutions I've tried (2) and have absolutely no complaints. As a quick note, if you're a US buyer, you probably don't have SCART unless you have a European TV or Retrotink 5x, or similar specialty device. If you do have one of these, you'll probably want to go with shielded Component output, or a very expensive HDMI internal modification. For most uses where SCART is preferred, this is an excellent solution.I ended up connecting this to my PS1, which immediately switched over output painlessly and gave me the sharpest picture I'd ever seen from the old machine.
