These handles are functional, and that's the best I'll say for them. I got them through the Vine program, so free to me in return for my honest review. We have horses and use electric fencing all over three pastures. A lot of these are the wide tape, so not pressure like high tensile, and I definitely wouldn't try using these anywhere there'll be much pressure put on them. These handles are simply the hook attached to a spring with a plastic cover, with the actual spring sticking out the end of the handle to tie to your fencing. Most handles like this that I've used have a spring in the middle, but that's not these -- just spring and hook, with a plastic cover. They'll do, and they would probably be fine for smaller livestock. I'll use them, carefully choosing where, but I wouldn't recommend them for fencing around larger animals like horses or cows.

Having used several different brands & styles of electric fence handles, I have quite a few to compare these to. The good: several in a value pack so this makes them a good buy. They have a large flange that helps shield one's hand from a potential shocking surprise. The interior spring allows for some 'give' and the large hook makes it easy to hook up. We have used these in applications with polybraid & twine, cheap aluminum wire, cable, and high tensile wire. They are a bit lightweight for the cable and HT wire, especially if you have a fair amount of tension on them. A deer hit one gateway that we had an 'orange' one of these on and it stretched the spring out - but it didn't break. I would expect similar performance from these - although haven't had the (misfortune) opportunity to test this out. We always try and have some gate handles in stock or in the fence checking UTVs for repairs bc a trip to the local farm store costs us about 45 mins to an hour and would cost you probably double or more to buy them as singles. Just keep in mind that if you have a tight HT gateway, you may want the HD rubber ones. We use ours with cattle, sheep, horses & hogs (and white tail deer ;P). We have not had any problems with domestic livestock breaking these mid weight handles as they are used to electric fence & don't challenge it.

These seem like they will do just fine. Time will tell if the sun or animals hitting the fence tear them up.For the price I'd say try them out.

We have a wide variety of gate handles that we have accumulated over the years. We use them everywhere from the applications shown in the advertisement (to connect to pass through insulators on posts) to actual gate handles that span an opening. We tried these out on our traditional set-up forming one end of a gate handle. First thing we noticed is this spring is really robust so if you need to maintain some tension on the line this is a great choice as it definitely maintains tension. It does have some degree of flexibility and the small loop at the end of the spring is perfect for passing through electric rope or tape allowing us to tie it back on itself to form the handle. Only drawback if you are using as a line tensioner for a rope gate is it effectively acts like a static handle (meaning the degree of tension is a bit too much) so you are not going to be able to easily flex the handle to relieve any tension but that may be okay for your application. Used in a line it definitely helps maintain tension again tiring back to the robustness of the spring. All in all, five stars as these issues I consider relatively minor and these are a great value so worth the investment.

These are sturdy & have a nice hand grip. Will work well on our electric fencing for various paddocks. Only drawback I see is the plastic portion. Only time will tell how it holds up in the Florida heat. As to the northern states, I’d be worried about the cold snaps & how this plastic would hold up.Other than my concern with plastic, it’s a well made hook & I’d recommend them
