Aún no empiezo a usarlo, estoy leyendo un libro sobre el tema, pero tuve oportunidad de usarlo en casa de una amiga que ya hace el pan de masa madre y funciona muy bien.

I’ve always wanted to try my hand at making sourdough. This is a tall, thin jar, 24 ounces. I like that this comes with markings in ounces in milliliters. It has thermometer, and I love the band that shows you the last time that you did a feeding. still trying my hand at getting the sourdough to ferment and grow, but practice will make perfect! I like that you can have the cover on this breathable while you’re going through the 7 to 10 day period of time where it is growing and then it has a screw on cap for you to store it in the refrigerator.

I love this jar for making sour dough starter. The band makes it easy to remember when I last fed it and the temperature bar helps me make sure it doesn’t get too cold (or hot). The spatula that comes with this kit is why I went with this one over the others - it’s length makes it easy to stir when feeding, scrape down the sides, and makes it easy to pull out some of the starter when you need to discard during feeding.Tip - before you make your sour dough starter, be sure to weigh your jar empty with the band on it and note how much it weighs. To make a sour dough starter, mix equal parts by weight of flour and water - such as 50 grams flour and 50 grams of water. Then after the first day at about the same time of day you first made your starter, discard half by weight (which is why you need to know your jar’s weight) then feed it equal parts flour and water (which would be 50 grams of each from my example). Do this same process everyday and within about a week you should have a useable starter.

Arrived in pieces and I have to return it before I can receive refund. Photos should be enough in this situation as returning broken glass seems both pointless and a massive inconvenience

They arrived securely packed in dense foam to avoid breakage. These jars are decent, they are large, wide opening , pretty sturdy, and have straight sides. The band and thermometer are kind of gimmicky. The cloth tops do they're job but I have a feeling that after a few washes they'll fall apart. The spatulas are well made, sturdy , and long enough to scrape down the jars..My main complaint is the "solid" lids. They are very thin aluminum and can easily be folded in half with two fingers. They have a cardboard liner which will eventually fall out and the lid will rust or get pitted.I'm keeping them because they do the job, but I will be buying some wide neck lids through Ball or another vendor.
