Had trouble finding a glove box lock for a 76 Jeep. Found this and it fit perfectly like a glove.

Have 85 cj7 thought this would fit for the glove box. It looked perfect. But it did not fit the glove box hole without modification of making hole quite larger . Still on the searchThe quality was good nothing bad to say other than it just didn't fit my needs

This part is the recommended part for the Rugged Ridge 11228.01 Glove Box Door, Black; 72-86 Jeep CJ and does not fit. The hole in the glove box door is WAY too small to fit this latch. I am trying to work with Rugged Ridge to find a solution to this issue, but haven't heard back from them yet with anything informative. Do not buy this latch as a solution to fit the Rugged Ridge 11228.01 Glove Box Door, Black; 72-86 Jeep CJ.

wish I'd found this years earlier, I've been holding my glove box door up with a spring. very easy to install- just unscrew the little backing, stick through then hole (make sure the hole in your glove box door is the one with the slit up top) and then screw the backing on again.
