I realize that I do not like working with pastels so I wouldn't buy them again. I don't like the way the residue feels on my fingers. I am not sure what 'sheerness' means for the rating. The pastels do lay down rich color but not the way I thought on black paper.

I use these when I am creating faces for dolls. It works great along with the other media that is necessary for this project. Lots of fun. These are the water soluble, not the grease pastels and are perfect.

Nice colours...I bought this for my self .. i m using it for background shading and drawing in my art work.. and it works great!!!... love it!!
