The center spur isn't long enough to use with hand drill. Not much longer than the outer cutters. Might work with drill press, but I had to get into a tight spot and had to use the hand drill. Even when pre drilled the outside caught and cause a problem.

I needed to drill a hole for some router bits so that it was easy to insert and extra the router bit without it catching. This did the job perfectly.My only warning/comment is that the shaft of this bit is not completely round—there is a flat region to fit some specific chuck. This did not affect my drill press's Jacob chuck, but if that's an issue, now you know beforehand.

The line is great- what sucks is the reel has no place to cinch the loose line once you peel off the sticker that it comes with originally.... I have this line consistently running loose- it is a real pain in the ass- simply add a cinch and it gets 5 stars
