This Sentry Safe box It's a lot heavier than you might think - it has to be solid in order to create a seal in the event of a fire that will protect your documents for up to 1-hour at 1700 degrees F! If you are looking for a Fire Safe and Secure safe to prevent your valuables from being stolen it will cost a lot more... So to get a SAFE that is also Fireproof, look for features that the safe is UL Classified to endure 1 hour at 1700°F that will keep interior temperatures safe for irreplaceable documents and valuables...

This thing is built like a beast and I have no doubt that it could survive a house fire... and maybe even a nuclear blast as well. lolBuild quality: 5 StarsWhen they delivered this thing to my house, I thought it was a small end table that I had ordered around the same time because it was VERY heavy when I brought the box inside. I thought, no way could this be the "small" safe I ordered, which looked almost like a small briefcase in the online photos. To my surprise, when I opened it up, I saw a safe box that looked like something you'd probably carry gold or silver bars in. Extremely well protected and well built.Locking system: 5 starsIt uses a circular "tubular" key and lock and feels very sturdy and well built. If somebody really wanted to break into this thing, I'm 100% certain they could do it with enough time and force... but this is purposefully built to protect the contents from the harsh elements (fire, waters, heat, etc...), not necessarily to stop James Bond from capturing its contents inside -- so beware of its proper use case. This needs to be hidden and secured in an area that is difficult to locate in a burglary, since it can simply be "walked off" with, if not brute forced at the scene.Longevity / Long Lasting Quality: To Be DeterminedI've only had it for a short period, but considering that it will be stored away in a relatively calm environment, I doubt it will have any issues in its lifetime.Overall Value: 5 StarsI purchased this safe for less than $60, and I think the value compares to others 1.5 to 2x its price. If you can pick it up on sale, it's a no brainer. Even at full price, I'd consider purchasing this one again.

Hallo, ich habe das Gerät am 10.05.2015 gekauft, und war damit bisher vollauf zufrieden. Heute nun, am 28.07. 2016 will ich den Safe öffnen ... Fehlanzeige: Der Rund-Schlüssel lässt sich zwar einstecken, aber nicht drehen. Der Safe bleibt mir verschlossen und ich komme nicht an meine dringend benötigten Unterlagen heran. Va fenomenal para guardar en ella toda la documentación de la vivienda y polizas, y pertenencias de valor... puedo decir que de verdad funcionan, soy bomberos y en mas de una ocasión me a tocado recogerlas a petición de la aseguradora, y a pesar de que el plastico se desace, el resto sigue intacto y sin sufrir desperfectos en su interior ni por calor ni por agua, yo tengo 2 en mi domicilio y las recomiendo 100%.

Excellent safe. It is on the heavy side but once in place it is brilliant and very sturdy.
