Bought this same unit 2 years ago for less $ than today. Prices have gone up, however the quality was missing. It’s the quality issues like scratches on top and dents in sides that cause me to write this review. Keeping the unit but won’t buy an additional cabinet or table

This took some time to put together and I suggest following directions. Some of the screws need drawer guides moved, but it's easy enough to do. It looks nice enough that we have it in the house to hold household tools. It moves easily and seems sturdy. I got it for my husband who can never find his tools when put away and is handicapped and often runs into things with his electric wheel chair but insists on having his tools sitting all over the place so he can reach them easily. This was a great solution to his need for ease and my need for decluttering AND he can run into it and knock it all over the house with his chair and it moves out of his way unlike all the other furniture which is slowly getting wrecked. Now.....I need to put the sofa on wheels. (You think I am kidding but I am. not! Smile....)

I don’t write many reviews, but I can’t pass this one up. I’m 78 yrs old and did most of the assembly myself and a couple of woodworking clamps to be the second pair of hands. My wife helped with the assembly of the drawers and that went quickly. This went better than most projects that I can remember. It was fun. I am so impressed with the quality of the design of the cabinet, the quality of the design of the packaging, and the technical writing clarity of the assembly instructions. This is a superior product in all regards. And a pricing bargain. I’m taken back somewhat with many of the review comments carping about the fact that the cabinet is a kit and not a finished product. A few carped about the fact of a kit (surely you knew that early on) and that they spent some 3 to 4 hours in assembly. I have a next door neighbor who successfully launched a solar company some 10 years ago. With today’s labor rates, benefits, and other costs most companies would pay some $50.00 an hour. That’s minimally $150 to $200 added cost, plus the larger and more costly shipping requirements. It reminds me of the old adage, “Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth”. This cabinet is in my opinion a superb product at a bargain price. If you don’t believe me go check out the price difference of similar tool cabinets with ball bearing supported drawers.

Don't buy this expecting a heavy duty toolbox, it's not, but it is a decent light duty toolbox, just what I was looking for in my man cave. It will hold my surface testing block and my Rockwell hardness tester. The Bad.....I almost sent it back! My item had more bent pieces of sheet metal than straight ones. After reviewing all the pieces I felt confidant that I could straighten them, and I really needed this item. A sheet metal seamer is really helpful if you have one! I probably spent an hour and a half straightening sheet metal. The tricky ones to straighten are those bends near a nut insert or inside an internal bend. I had two buggered nut inserts I had to re-tap. I don't blame FEDEX for the bent sheet metal, as the packaging was intact with no gouged or major dings or dents rather I blame the company that packaged the unit, woefully inadequate. I think many of the pieces were bent before they were packed. Hence the 2 star reduction! Beware there are some sharp edges on a few pieces, have some bandaids on hand. Mine did not come with instructions, luckily you can download them from the manufacturer,The Good....This unit is very well designed. Everything lines up very well. The nut inserts are a bonus, I hit mine with a little locktite while assembling. Though all of the sheet metal is relatively unsubstantial, the design locks everything together into a nice light and I think durable unit. The casters are more than adequate, they move and turn easily over carpet. The pre-cut drawer liner is a nice touch as I dislike buying and cutting drawer liner. The magnetic screwdriver is helpful and a decent screwdriver. There was plenty of hardware and even a small bag of extra bolts, well done! Assembling was pretty easy, takes about an hour if you actually read the instructions and are prepared beforehand. Using a small low torque battery powered screwdriver greatly speeds up assembly.

This is a tough product to review. I bought it to hold all my bicycle tools and to give me a work surface for when I'm working on my bike. For that purpose it's a great product and it's exactly what I wanted. On the positive side:* It holds a lot of tools and the shallow drawers make everything accessible.* You get a solid wood top (though it's thinner than I was expecting).* As others said, the rollers are great.* It looks nice (at least from a distance).* The bumpers and handle are really nice touches.* The instructions to put it together are great. It takes a while, but that really didn't bother me.On the negative side:* The key mechanism was bent and broke off the first time I tried to use it. I was lucky it didn't break off with the drawers locked. I'm hoping I can fix it with a nut, bolt and lots of washers.* The rivets that you screw the bolts into are not that strong. I was very careful not to cross thread and I didn't use a driver, but I managed to break away 2 of the rivets on one of the black bumpers. The bolts just spin now. Annoying, but I can live with it.* The sheet metal is really thin, especially the inner drawer parts. I had to bend a lot of edges back into place with rubber tipped pliers. However, once everything is put together, it feels sturdy enough.* There were a few dings and light scratches on some of the panels. For function and price, I would give it 4.5 stars. There are just too many little quality issues to rate it that high overall. Ultimately, it does the job I want it to do and I don't think there are better options at this price, but if you're looking for high quality, then spend more and look elsewhere.
