These are nice woven rattan placemats. The dimensions are as advertised - each placemat is 12" in diameter. I tend to use smaller dinner plates, so these work well together. The woven rattan is nice and thick, and seems to be doing a good job of protecting my table from hot spots (my primary goal for trying these out).

I got two sets of placemats. The one on the left are made by Dimpola, and the one on the right is by SHACOS. I wanted to do a compare and contrast. Honestly, at face value, you wouldn't know they are different brands, I would say SHACOS has more stitching, and it is more durable. It's also a little thicker, than the Dimpola. But I marginally like the look of Dimpolas better. I use nine inch plates, so these fit me perfectly. I wouldn't say I'm going for a farmhouse look, but just more natural look and these fit the bill. As they are handmade, you should allow for a marginal size discrepancy, so do keep that in mind. As long as you're not eating on 12 inch plates, it really shouldn't be an issue. These were exactly what I was looking for in a placemat and it is a PLACEMAT! I included a photo of the 9 inch straw plate that we use daily, and also a corningware 10 inch plate, which it's actually slightly over 10 inches.
