I was originally enticed by this battery pack’s cooling feature, capacity, and claimed faster MagSafe charging for my iPhone 15 Pro Max. These magnetic phone chargers all tend to get really hot, and this one is unfortunately no exception.Pros:- Handy kickstand feels durable- Magnet strength is pretty good (this depends somewhat on your phone case)- Larger battery capacity than a lot of MagSafe packs (10,000 mAh)Cons:- Slow charging- Noisy fan (in quiet environments)- Still gets pretty hotOther notes:- RGB lighting is underwhelming, but it’s there- You can’t turn the light off and still charge- Pack is a little bulky but expected for the capacity- Your phone will charge eventuallyIn my experience the charging speed is very slow. Probably equal to or worse than my 5,000 mAh Anker MagSafe battery pack, which is not at all fast. Definitely not as fast as Apple’s MagSafe charger. The charging speed of the battery pack itself isn’t quick either.I’m not convinced the cooling fan does anything except make noise. A tiny wisp of hair remained unmoved when I held it next to the vents on the sides of the pack. If you’re in a quiet area, you can definitely hear the fan whirring. It’s distracting if you’re at all sensitive to droning noises, or if you’re used to silent battery packs. To be fair, if you’re playing audio on your phone or you’re wearing headphones, obviously, you won’t hear the fan. The main annoyance is that this thing still gets pretty hot at the bottom of the unit, particularly right where the fan is, and on the metal plate on the inside of the pack that rests against your phone. My Anker MagSafe pack gets very hot too, so it’s not a unique problem. I just don’t think the 3/4” fan is helping that much.The RGB light just cycles slowly through rainbow colors. The LEDs are directly under the fan, so it’s not a nicely dispersed light inside the clear housing. Not the greatest implementation, but not terrible. I couldn’t find a way to turn the light off and remain charging if that’s something you’d want.For the price, I would hope for some more functional features like a digital display with the battery level and for a cooling fan that works. If they could figure out something like the ESR MagSafe CryoBoost car charger with the ventilation system, that would be something.
