Was completely new to the robot vacuum world. Went with Shark because the name and thought it was a safe bet and the easy pay off options with no interest make it very appealing. It's been a game changer. We have dogs, cats, kids and all hardwood and vinyl floors. You have a mess 24/7. This thing goes above and beyond. Picks up almost anything you throw at it. We mainly got this because we couldn't keep up with the pet hair. When we empty the dust bin it looks like a small dog comes out. It works. The floor feels clean. Now it does has some issues. I wish it could suck up more than smaller stuff. It's brush roller gets stuck at times. It would be nice if the roller could go counter clockwise to unstuck itself possibly? It needs improvement on thinking it's going to fall off a cliff lol. The brushes seem to wear off fast. Hopefully I can order replacements? But it's still going strong it runs in my house several times a day so I'm really pushing it's limits. It came in around $400 and something dollars it's in the mid price point. A little pricey but 6 months to pay it off works for me!I've never tried the mop feature but it has that too. If you are looking for a mid range robot vacuum id recommend it. I don't think most people would use it like us. Time will tell how long it lasts but I can't complain.

As a fan of Shark products, I really wanted to like this, but it just fell short of the mark. Here are some pros and cons from my experiences since October 2024~ Pro: Suction! It picks up pretty much anything it rolls over. Spilled Dog food is a daily occurrence, and most of it is picked up on the first pass.~ Con: Obstacle avoidance is inexistent. Overall, I would categorize it as blind. If the object is large, it runs into it, and if small, it runs over it. Having the brush roll or wheel stuck on an object is a common occurrence.~ Pro: Self-empty is great; when the BOT dust bin is full, it empties itself into the hub and then returns to doing the job. My bot is mapped for roughly 1600 sq and will return to the station once during the cleaning to empty the dust bin~ Neutral: It cannot self-identify between carpet and hard floors. My house is 90% hardwood, so it’s not a big deal to me, but the bathroom mats become an issue when the mop is attached~ Con: It doesn’t like the dark. The primary reason I bought this is because it fits under my couches, and I’m annoyed by the amount of dust that collects there. When the room lights are on, the bot will go under the couch; however, if it's dark, it will most of the time avoid these areas. I feel like a simple LED light would not have solved this problem with minimal drain on the battery or performance~ Neutral: The mop fluid container is small, with about 800 sq. of coverage before it's empty. Shark does offer another (higher) model that allows itself to refill, but even then, at the rate of use, it will likely empty that depot within a few runs~ Con: The app allows users to define rooms but requires the use of rectangles to do so. Having to create and link multiple rectangles to cover rooms is unnecessary when a simple drawing function would be excellent.~ Pro: I have a house full of long-haired women and have broken many vacuums across the years. The Self-Cleaning Brushroll is not perfect, but the build-up is comparably low, and I doubt it will be the reason this product dies~ Neutral: Overall, mopping is okay. It doesn’t miss any spot, but sticky items require personal attention~ Con: It gets lost: At first, I only mapped part of my house, as the kids' rooms always have stuff on the floor and should never be visited by the bot. Sure enough, whenever their doors are open, it wanders in and gets stuck on something.~ Con: While you can set a cleaning schedule in the app, it's all or nothing. As mentioned before, you can dictate the area of a room, but you can’t choose what rooms should be cleaned when a cleaning is scheduled. As mentioned before, the BOT doesn’t need to be in rooms with known obstaclesI will continue to update as life goes on

I had the Neato Botvac D7 for years. That machine started off great, however shortly begin giving us issues disconnecting, not recognizing the floor plan, failed parts that my husband replaced several times, app failure. Neato didn't make improvements to the app to fix the issues and finally it was just dead.I considered irobot but couldn't afford it with our crap economy right now, so I saw this shark. I've had other shark products and loved them so I wanted to try this one and luckily snagged it on sale. So far I'm in love with this vacuum, far superior to the almost $1000 Neato I had. Some people complained about the battery life, the fact that you have to swap out the moping head, and that it needs to doc to empty often. However, none of those both me. Some things are the way they are in order to keep the machine small and lightweight. It is slower than my old Neato and has to charge more often, but I'll tell you that it does a MUCH better job actually picking up debris than my old one. I'm glad its slower, as it should be. How can it clean when its zipping around your house? The mop head should be changed out because you need to fill the reservoir and change the cleaning pad anyway, so who cares. Plus, you're likely not going to mop every day.The app functions well and is easy to use. This mapped my 3000 sq home 1st time no prob. I added no go zones and identified rugs easily. The app lets you schedule a whole house cleaning but I'm sure you could also schedule room or specific zone cleanings if you create other maps just for those areas, but haven't tried it yet. I clean my whole home every day. So far I love it. We'll see if any issues arise after a while.

I’ve waited a couple of months to give this Shark AI robot vacuum cleaner a thorough review so that I would have the opportunity to fully discover its pros and cons. We recently moved to a new home, so when we first set up the robot vacuum cleaner, the house was in disarray and I was worried about the mapping function - given that we had not arranged our furniture the way we wanted it, or even purchased all our new furnishings. So I figured it would take some time to truly assess how the robot vacuum performed and adjusted as we settled into the house. While our previous robot vacuum cleaner (that we retired once we moved into this new home) was not a Shark model, we are familiar with Shark vacuum cleaners. One of the three handheld vacuum cleaners we own is a Shark, and we also own the Shark HydroVac XL 3-in-1 Vacuum, Mop, and Self-Cleaning System. We have a generally favorable view of the brand and were excited to try this robot vacuum out.Overall, we have definitely found this to be an upgrade from our previous robot vacuum cleaner and it performs much better - but not without a few minor issues which I will outline below.PROS:- Set up is quite simple and does not take a huge amount of time. The functions are relatively easy to figure out and we managed to get the robot vacuum launched and running quickly - sending it out to map the house.- It performs extremely well on our hardwood floors, and thankfully, the vast majority of our home consists of hardwood flooring.- We are satisfied with the vacuum and mopping features. Having owned robot vacuums before, we understand that they are not meant for deep cleaning but to perform regularly daily maintenance to prevent your house from becoming overly filthy in between actual manual deep cleans. If you keep this in mind and are not expecting deep cleaning wonders, then the performance will likely meet expectations for the most part.- Having the self-empty bin is highly convenient and we don’t feel the need to supervise the vacuum as much, which often defeats the purpose of having a robot vacuum. Sometimes, with our old robot vacuum, it would stop cleaning because it needed to be emptied and we were not around to do it.- Navigation, while not 100% flawless, is much better than previous robot vacuums we have owned so far.- This Shark robot vacuum goes back and forth over spots, and seems more thorough with cleaning - especially since it makes an effort with edges and corners.- It performs pretty well with pet hair, which doesn’t seem to jam it up or get tangled very much.- The suction is strong for a vacuum this size!- You can set up no-go zones via the app.- The app is quite functional, and while I felt that it lacked a few features that I would have liked to see (such as the ability to track the vacuum’s movements remotely and see where it is in the house, and the ability to name some rooms correctly because the app just does not offer those room names, like guest bedroom), it still offers a lot of helpful options that should satisfy a lot of the average user’s needs. And while the wish features we found lacking would have been very nice to have, we ultimately find ourselves doing fine without them.CONS:- Mapping in the app is kind of a mess and not very intuitive. I felt that this could have been better designed.- While the robot’s navigation is better than our old robot vacuum, we felt that it had difficulty generating a very accurate map. We are not sure if this could be attributed to the fact that we had just moved in, as I mentioned, and things were in constant disarray. Between the robot and the app, it took us a while to get the mapping sorted to our satisfaction. I highly recommend that you do not do what we did by setting up the robot vacuum while your house isn’t in perfect order with 100% clear pathways. Wait until your home is tidy and more or less the way it normally appears.- The self-empty bin is so helpful but in our household at least, it fills up faster than the product claims. Having said that, we are a pet household, so we might have more debris than the average house.- While this is a dual action robot vacuum and will clean both hard floors and carpet, I find that it sometimes has issues switching between the hardwood floors and a rug. Of course, a rug is not a carpeted floor, and I don’t know if this is an important factor. We don’t have any carpeted floors so I cannot comment on how it performs in that regard. However, there is some clunkiness and inefficiency around cleaning and navigating around small rugs (especially if the robot vacuum is trying to mop the floors and one of the rugs is in the way). We are still trying to figure out the best way to have the robot vacuum not run over the rug with a wet mop attachment and get it wet - which could happen even if it does not actively “mop” the rug.- The robot vacuum is a bit noisier than we expected.Overall, we are still very happy with this robot vacuum and it’s the best one we have owned so far.If you are considering buying one, I definitely recommend investing in the version with the self-emptying chamber. It has made our life a lot easier!
