I have been keeping my 2009 GT Expert Road Bike with a Shimano Ultegra 6600 Drive Train going for a long time now. I ride 20 miles a day (weather permitting). I have had to replace most of the common maintenance items. The bottom bracket has lasted a good 10 years now, but it finally went out. I noticed the crank arm was loose when pedaling. Confirmed upon removal, one of the bearings was dried out. It was a actually very easy job. I pushed out the old bearings with a socket and extension. Then I pressed fit them in with this inexpensive tool I bought here at Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BFCXG7HX?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_detailsAnyway, I thought I'd share what little info I have regarding this item and what the specs of the actual product I received are. The questions & answers section makes this VERY confusing. Some say it is for a Mountain Bike and others say a Road bike. The BB-92A is the mountain bike and the BB-92B is the road bike. Since they are both 24mm crank diameter, they can be exchanged if you have the old tube. The SM-BB92-41B is for an 86mm frame width ROAD BIKE. (I previously used the SM-BB91-41B so I know it also works the same and is probably it's predecessor.)ACTUAL SPECS24mm diameter where the crank pushes in.41mm frame hole diameter86mm frame width pedal to pedalI took pics of my old one with a digital caliper just to show what is being measured. Hopefully it helps someone who was as confused with listing as I was.

This bottom bracket is made of plastic and goes together with the right press tool. Installing the new Shimano GRX-600 crank was harder that i though as interference fit was a bit tighter than expected. Also, these bearing do not "freely spin" as the Infinite Bottom Bracket bearings do. they spin smoothly and quiet but there is more internal friction the the machined Infinite brand. Overall, I don't think it will make that much difference.

I replaced my existing Shimano bottom bracket that failed on my Fuji cyclocross bike after 5,000+ miles. It appears to be a genuine Shimano part, but after just a few hundred miles I started hearing grinding and clunking. With a 100 mile ride coming up I decided I could risk it. I removed the bottom bracket and replaced it with an after market, metal one that has held up much better so far.

Last year I bought a very expensive road bike (Canyon Aeroad...fully loaded with all the bells and whistles...saweet for sure), and everything is great but I am out riding with my friends and all I hear is tick, tick, creak, creak. I felt like I had bought a crappy bike. It was literally embarrassing. One of my friends suggested the Bottom Bracket might be the problem so I bought 2 new bottom brackets (this product). I watched every video on YouTube I could find and most warned of this creaky bottom bracket problem but I followed their instructions. Creek, Creek, Tick, Tick, still....I pulled everything apart and tried a different lubricant...Creak, Creek, Tick, Tick,...I tried another new Bottom Bracket...same. Then I watched one video that suggested a product from Wheels Manufacturing(https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B017UO6ROQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1).I was bothered at the price and it requires you to buy a few extra tools that aren't cheap to install but everyone in the industry that I've seen recommends this product. So, I bit the bullet and bought one and bought the tools. I pulled out the Shimano, installed the new Wheels Manufacturing unit (easier install) and the bike rides solid as a rock with no sounds. The crank turns as smooth as a baby's bottom. Needless to say, I strongly encourage you to not buy the Shimano bottom bracket and to consider spending a little more money for the Wheels Manufacturing part/tools. I have no financial interest in any of this I just don't want anyone to go through the headaches that I did. I love Shimano products. I have Di2, all of my drive train is Shimano,...I love their products. But this bottom bracket...bad news.
