For about $12 a piece this is a pretty good deal. I like the compact size of these detectors, they work well in two small bedrooms I have in the house. I have not experienced the random alarm for no reason, and the alarm is loud and clear, so far so good. Will update review if things change, for me, for now, these are a great deal and I would order them again for other small spaces in my home, recommend

I got these detectors to replace a couple of old units in my house. They take a little figuring out to remove and replace the mounting brackets but it only took a few minutes. They mounted and tested OK. What I did not like was that both units came with absolutely dead 9 volt batteries. This maked me wonder how old they are, since both units were that way. Once I put in new batteries they tested fine.

Good 2-Pack Smoke Detectors. The smoke detectors have a 1-year 9V battery. These smoke alarms can be used for ten years with continuous battery replacement. The GS509A is a photoelectric smoke alarm -- it is more sensitive in detecting slow smoldering fires which generate light smoke, little heat and may smolder for hours before bursting into flames. Weekly testing is required. I had 2 smoke detectors that have just quit working on me. They were over 20 years old though so I guess it was about time for some new ones so when I saw these I ordered them. Easy to install. They look nice for fire alarms. They seem to work well. Lightweight, compact and portable. Arrived quickly. Hope I never have a fire and these have to work! They do give you peace of mind though.

These smoke detectors are a good size. You don't need it to be big to detect smoke, and I prefer the smaller profile. Included in the set are two smoke detectors complete with name brand 9 volt batteries, a magnetic mount, and screws and wall anchors for installation. I tested them and they make a loud alarm that sounds like a bird, a very piercing sound. Mounting them was a breeze. I used the magnetic mount with the double sided tape. Just peeled off the cover of the tape on both sides and affixed it to my ceiling - couldn't be any easier. Easy to remove, just twist it off. the tape holds onto the mounting plate on the bottom of the detector.

I like that these smoke alarms come with 9 volt batteries included and they are very easy to install using the magnetic discs. My two pack had no screws included which is fine with me because I intended to use the magnets anyway but I thought I should mention it. I connected the batteries and tested both of these alarms and they seem to work, though I hope I never have to test them in an actual fire.
