I have a much earlier version of this saw and it's great, lighter than a standard worm drive saw. The down side to this version of this saw is that the power cord comes with a twist lock plug. The majority of people whom would use this saw do not have extension cords with twist lock plugs on them. This necessitates the replace ment of a brand new cord with a standard 3 prong plug before using the saw. This condition is beyond stupid.

The saw itself works great. Heavy duty build design but not so heavy it gets hard to work with when using it all day. One thing that wasn't in the product listing when I ordered mine was that it uses a twist lock plug. The listing has since been updated, but it wasn't there originally.I got the saw just in time to start working on a new, larger pen outback for our chickens. We set up, were just about to start cutting and I discovered the twist lock plug on the end when I went to get plugged in. This resulted in a need to send someone to the hardware store to buy an adapter. Not a huge deal, but time could have been saved had we known it came with this kind of connection. Fortunately we were working in a location close enough to a hardware store that it didn't take a lot of time to get one. Had we been working at our previous house which is more rural, it could have resulted in an hour drive there and back to the closest store with the needed attachment.Other than the surprise about the plug, everything else about the saw has been working great. We used it pretty much constantly to make cuts over a period of three days while putting together the pen. Everything works fine and overall I'm pleased with the its performance.

I'm a journeyman carpenter (25+ years framer) and started out with a used hd77 which is essentially the same saw just a bit heavier. I still use that saw daily and after 30+ years of heavy use it's still making me money. This is a great light corded saw. It's tried and true design is durable, rugged and made to take a beating and last for years. It has a built in sky hook (rafter hook) that is designed for dimensional 2x material, an on-board blade wrench that stays fast in the well designed storage spot very nicely. The cord end on this particular model is a twist lock end as opposed to the standard 3 prong ends that are the most common. The twist lock end is a nice feature to keep from accidentally getting unplugged or losing a ground and in some places twist lock cords and tools are required per safety regulations. I have zero reservations recommending this saw, especially for anyone wanting to get into the carpentry trade.
