and the top of the top are v-mount and gold mount. These are amazing with a nice little screen. you have a huge amount of power for powering your gear with connections from d-tab to usb. a nice high wattage output that will last to keep your camera and field monitor or maybe your cob lights going for some time. easy and quick to charge. well built and given the brand of smallrig, im certain it will last a long time and not give me any issues. I love this battery... oh, and the color is beautiful :-)

This battery arrived with 75% power. I wanted to test it right away with my video lights, because the company that makes them said the lights should work for a few hours witha v-mount battery. I plugged it into a Neewer FS150 (yes, I am using the correct dtap cable for that light), and from 75% power the Smallrig battery said it should last 40min on 100% brightness at 5600k. It lasted 26min. There was still 17% battery left, but the FS150 had a low voltage warning. After charging the battery to full I tried again - shuts off at 17% power as the first time, and I get 42 minutes of use of the FS150 at full power on 5600k. That's not bad. After testing with the light, I wanted to see how fast it would charge. I plugged it in and initially with 4.5v input it said 2hr 43min to charge from 17%. All was going well, I got it up to 23% quickly, then I decided to see if it would charge another decive while plugged in. When I plugged my phone into the 2nd USBc slot it was working fine. It was charging the phone and the time for the phone to charge was the same as if the phone were plugged into the same outlet. It seemed like it was working; the phone was charging and the Smallrig battery wasn't ticking down on the % remaining. However, after I removed the 2nd USB cable, even in the same plug, it now says 7 hours to charge instead if 2.5 hours. I tried using a 50,000mAh power bank that does 65w fast charging, and it shows 19v input and goes back to 2 hours to charge. I switched back to the walls and it says 7 hours, and then again tried the 65w fast charger and it still shows 19v input but now says 6 hours to charge. I know to get the fastest charge you need a 100w wall charger, but it makes no sense to me why this was fine for the first 15 minutes in a regular USBc charger before I plugged something into the 2nd USBc slot on the battery, and why I get such inconsistency with a 65w power bank. The second time I charged it to full, I plugged it in again to the slow outlet, 4.7v, and it shows 32min to charge and just sits there, not changing % or time remaining. When I plugged it into a 100w wall charger ot charged in under 3 hours from 0%, and it was drawing 92w but the entire time the charger said 0hr0min to charge.Anyway, once it's charged it up it does well for powering phones, can keep my Nikon Z 7ii powered for hours on end, can charge up my Amaran Ace25c quickly, and It'll power my COB video lights for a bit, which is all I need (just wanted something that would work in a pinch if the power goes out or if I need portability, wasn't expecting it to last all day). I haven't tried it with the DC outputs or BP, I just needed it for dtap and USBc anyway. However, when I first used the light the display stayed on the entire tome it was in use. After charging it, while using my COB light through dtap, it will only show me the remaining battery time left if my light is on full. If I go below 75% intensity on the light, the display on the battery just shows the circle with battery % and then turns off after a minute. I can't get it to show the screen that has all of the outputs and how much time is left unless the COB is on full intensity. It also turns off that display after a minute when on full intensity. I do not understand why it was working fine at first, but now doesn't show the full display. When I plugged my phone in at that 17%, the display stayed on the whole time it was plugged in. It also stays on the entire time it is recharging. I am thinkig due to the display % when charging and issues with display using dtap, perhaps I got a faulty unit when it comes to the display?Anyway, I've been trying to figure out the value proposition if this product over other v-mount batteries that cost half as much but have the same 6800mAh at 14.8v power/99wh power. The biggest thing to set this apart is the 100w charging. Other v-mount batteries at this time can do up to 65w, but this is the only one I know of that does 100w. It also has 2 USBc ports, which is kind of a big deal over those that just have one. And the last thing that seems to set this apart is that it'll show how long it takes to charge or how long it'll keep your devices going before it needs to be charged. That's actually a pretty cool feature (I just wish it worked properly for me). The build quality is also excellent, where other batteries may not feel as robust. Whether those things are worth an exta $100-$150 is up to you to decide.

This battery from Smallrig looks and feels premium: metal sides in a nice olive-ish green, flat smooth back, color LED display, rubber port cover and tactile button culminate to complete a well built power supply. It has a compact stature but packs a punch with a true 100w output and quick charge time. While it only has one DTap output, it has a plethora of other outputs to make up for it. I can effectively power my camera, external monitor, light and microphone all from this one brick. And technically if I was in a studio setting, I could plug it in to charge via USB-C while I was using it. I wish it came with a compatible charging block, but with the prevalence of USB-C it wasn’t hard to find one that would work. The V mount makes it easy to attach to my rig, although it has gotten stuck a couple of times to my Sirui plate. Not sure if it is the battery or plate causing the issue but it’s a mere annoyance that I don’t mind dealing with. This is cheaper than most batteries of similar quality, making it a great investment.

The SmallRig V Mount Battery VB99 Pro has been an awesome addition to my gear. It’s compact but packs a serious punch with its 99Wh capacity, and the green color is a nice touch it stands out just enough to make it easy to find in my bag.The multiple ports are a lifesaver. Between the D-TAP, dual USB-C, USB-A, and DC ports, I can power pretty much everything on set. The PD 100W USB-C fast charging is especially handy; I’ve used it to top up my laptop and even my phone in a pinch. The TFT display is super clear and gives all the info I need about battery levels and usage, which is a thoughtful addition. If you’re planning to use this with your camera, just know you’ll probably need a V-mount plate or accessory to make it work. Once you have that, though, it’s smooth sailing. If you’re using it as a general backup battery for lights or peripherals, it’s perfect right out of the box. I’ve even used it on location shoots to power a video light, and it performed like a champ.Overall, this battery is a great mix of portability and power. Whether you’re shooting with a camera rig or just need a versatile power source, it’s totally worth the investment. Just be ready to grab any extra mounts or cables you might need for your specific setup.
