The Prezlock Smart Fingerprint Padlock is a great option for keyless security. The fingerprint sensor is fast and convenient, and having the backup key and app control is a nice touch. The build quality feels solid, and it holds up well against regular use.The only downside is that the fingerprint scanner can sometimes be a bit finicky, requiring multiple attempts to unlock. Otherwise, it’s a reliable and useful padlock. Would recommend!

This lock comes nicely packaged with the lock, a charging cable, 2 keys, a weather proof cover for the lock, and a good user manual. The lock itself appears to be a very good quality alloy and the additional weather proof cover provides more protection for outdoor use.There are different options that can be set to unlock the lock. You can set to unlock using the app, or set to automatically unlock the lock when the phone with the app is near the lock after pressing the button on the lock, or set to unlock using a fingerprint. All of the options work well for me. The main reason I wanted this lock was for the fingerprint unlocking and I am quite happy with the performance so far. The lock lights up green when it unlocks using the fingerprint and I have not experienced any unacceptable delay when unlocking using fingerprints.I definitely recommend reading the user manual before using this lock. I found the user manual to be much better than I expected and it clearly describes all of the features of the lock from charging, using the app, adding users, etc.Unlike other padlocks that unlock and open with just a key, this padlock will unlock using the fingerprint, app, or key, but the lock does not "open". Once the lock is unlocked, you have to manually pull it open with your hands. I do not mention this as a flaw, just pointing out the difference. When I was testing the lock, I thought it may not be working, then I realized I had to pull it open after it was unlocked. Note that all of this is clearly mentioned in the user manual, but I began testing before fully reading the manual.Charging the lock is straightforward using the provided USB charging cable. There is a light around the fingerprint sensor that lights up red when charging and turns to green when the lock is fully charged. The manual indicates that the battery will last up to 6 months or 3000 openings before it needs to be recharged. I did not want to wait that long before submitting my review, but I have found that it is still working after 3 weeks of use in an outdoor location where it has been exposed to cold, snow, and rain. Note that the weather proof cover was installed on the lock before placing in the outdoor location. The cover fits very well and has a flap to cover the fingerprint button as well as a flap to cover the charging port.The instructions indicate that this lock is designed to work in temperatures of -20 C to 60 C. I am currently using as an outdoor lock and here in Canada, the temperature can drop below -20 C. I will update if this happens and there are any issues with the lock. But for most indoor applications, this is not an issue.You are required to download the Prezlock app on your phone and register with your email to create an account. When you create an account, the app emails you a code to enter to validate the account creation. This is the only app I encountered where the email with the code went to my spam folder. So if you think the app is not sending you the email, check your spam folder. Once the account was created, I found it straightforward to add users and fingerprints by following the instructions in the app. One limitation of this lock that is worth pointing out is that this lock uses Bluetooth to connect to the app on your phone, not wifi. This means your phone must be in range of the lock in order to use the app to unlock the lock or add more user fingerprints for the lock. You will not be able to remotely unlock the lock if you are far from where the lock is placed. Unlocking the lock by fingerprint will always work even if the phone is out of Bluetooth range.I like how this lock can be programmed to allow up to 100 different user fingerprints to be used to open the lock. I have the lock on a gate that opens to my backyard, so with this many potential users, I can provide access to all of my family members and close friends. I can also add any of the regular yard or pool maintenance employees to the list of allowed users. It is also very easy to delete a fingerprint user via the app at any time. I also like how the app provides a log of the last 128 openings and closings so I can see who accessed the lock.Overall, this is a solid lock that is easy to use once you are set up on the app. If you are looking for a fingerprint padlock and do not mind having another app on your phone, then I would recommend this lock.
