Suction cup(s) release tabs are not needed as suction fails during use! Initially it works & the concept is great but functionally it fails to maintain a suction, & if it did hold on to guitar body you could not releas suction as the tabs are under the bar, rendering them unaccessaible. It would be a rather easy fix if they simply cast the holes correctly & better quality suction cups, It would be a clever money making design & with suede side down it does hinder leg slippage some.

I was a bit surprised that this was actually leather and not fake. 4 stars because the leather is glued instead of sewn and the suction cups let go of the guitar after a while. Otherwise works great.

This device works well but you need to have a glossy finish on the guitar for the suction cups to work.I have a matte finish so the only way it works is to put a piece of shipping tape where the suction cups go.Not sure how that will affect the finish over time. So far so good. You also need to have a guitar with a body dimension that is over 3" wide. Mine just makes it so all in all it's working great with the caveats mentioned. It is adjustable by moving the suction cups closer or farther apart to raise or lower the amount of elevation.I returned a high priced type that was much harder to use and not as portable. This one is cheaper nicer looking and works better.

I started classical guitar lessons a couple of months ago and my first challenge was how to keep the guitar at the correct angle without having it slide off my leg. My first approach was a cushion which didn't do the trick for me. Then I began looking at some of the really expensive devices, thinking there was no other option. Then I found this one. I didn't expect it to work but it was so inexpensive that I figured it was worth a try. Amazing. It works. The hard part initially was to find just where to attach the suction cups so that I would have the best height and angle. Once found, it stays attached quite well and, if need to remove it (so my guitar will fit in its case), I can mark the guitar lightly to easily reattach it.I should add that putting a piece of rug gripper over my leg first helps the device to stay in place even better than it does on its own. I happened to have a piece at home but it can also be purchased at reasonable cost on Amazon (e.g. Veken offers one similar to what I use for about $10).While professionals may be willing to spend $100+ on a fancier device, this is a very effective and economical option for those of us who want to keep our monetary investment low, at least for the time being.

I have to return it as the suction cups do not work on my guitar. they keep falling off. but the idea is great.
