Got this for my ball python enclosure and come to find out after installing it and plugging it in plus adding my light bulb that indeed works with my other heat lamp holder, this cage does not work!! Total disappointment and now I have to deal with returning it.

I bought 2 of these. One for a ceramic heater that stays on 24/7 and one for a 100w basking bulb that is on for 14 hours a day. It burnt through two bulbs in 10 days and I assumed it was the bulbs because the ceramic heater is fine. I replaced those bulbs with a different brand and they also burnt out in about 5 days each. These are high quality bulbs that are supposed to last MONTHS. Obviously at this point it is this product and not the bulbs. I checked the product description and it says it can handle up to 300w so it should not have a problem with a 100w bulb, yet mine keep burning out in less than a week. Also they are very difficult to change bulbs because when you try to unscrew the bulb the actual lamp unscrew with it and you have to put it back together while it’s hanging in an enclosure.I will say they do a good job at protecting the animal. The cage gets warm enough that my snake doesn’t want to wrap up on it but not hot enough to harm him.

We have a 10’ female red tail boa that has to get into EVERYTHING! This has been the first light cage she hasn’t been able to rip out of the enclosure or open and I’m wildly impressed! She figured out the spring locked ones but thankfully this one has her stumped and she can stay warm.The installation was super easy and it has been in place with her climbing around it and hasn’t budged. Even with the two screws it came with.

Love the product, heavy duty material, clasps work. I received one that the screws don’t align so the bottom swings when touched. I am unable to adjust the height, which is fine for my gecko. It did randomly shut off once when something hit the top of my tank. After turning off and on it started back up. The other one is great!
