Works perfectly in my Tesla Model Y to hold my son's tablet, the mechanism is smooth and it holds the tablet perfectly even through bumps on the road.

The mount is hard to push into the seat backing. Make sure you center it before pushing it all the way in as it is hard to slide left or right after it's installed. After the clip is installed, then you can mount the tablet clip on the mounting ball. The grip holds even large tablets well with room to spare. The side clips can hold a 1/2" thick tablet if needed. Gripping the tablet on the sides allows me to adjust the height of the tablet for comfortable viewing.

This little gadget arrived in two pieces. The smaller piece is the one that gets wedged down behind the headrest. That was a bit challenging. I had to watch the video in the listing to make sure the flat piece was supposed to be driven down between the leather and the hard plastic part and it took a little muscle to make that happen. It looks just like the listing video now. The “ball” fits into the larger piece back and allows full 360 degree rotation of the device. It will definitely fit any size cell phone and will fit some tablets as well. Not my iPad Pro- that’s too big. But we are thrilled to have a holder for the grandchildren so their eyes can focus straight ahead instead of looking down in their lap and getting car sick.
